Modern cylinder vacs have powered brush heads/ carpet beaters. Cable runs down the tube part and plugs into the head. ;)
I was disappointed with the results of ours this morning until I realised I had forgot to plug the leccy connector into the head,so the brush wasn't spinning. ;D
Yeah, sorry I was talking about the 90s.

Not sure I could live with a cylinder any more. My last one lost a fight with a vegetable rack, bloody things ;D

last time i saw your vegetable rack, it was in fact a fairly sizeable stack of baked bean tins.....    at which point, i'm not surprised the hoover lost....

I would have considered another dyson if they were not now crappy Malaysian built tack at top dollar prices.

That was one of the reasons I decided, against Mrs TB's wishes, to repair the old old, rather than buy a new one.
