Chasewater Meeting - Midlands (October)
« on: 03 October 2011, 19:18:03 »

**** Chasewater Meeting for October ****

Ladies & Gents,

Starting a new thread for October now it's in  ::) .

Meeting at the usual place (Map & link) to be sorted out shortly once I get a detailed map in my photos box to paste on here  ::) .  Thought I would this time for those who've not attended before, due to a bit of a mis-understanding last meeting.... Opps  ::)

So which Sunday are the rest of you interested in, 16, 23 or the 30th?  Maybe best to get an idea before we commit to a date?

If you've never been before, don't be shy... join us, plenty of parking space  ;) ;D :y

Hi Mike, the 23rd would be better for me, as the baby is due on the 30th!  But that could all change, so although I want to be there if SWMBO decides to deliver earlier I won't be able to make it  ::)

May have my car back by then  ;)

I'm currently running round in a 3.2 saloon on lpg.... omg, I miss the facelift now. This car is bloody lovely  :)

My mate is currently fixing my lpg and has lent me his car til it's done. The reason it didn't work.... the wiring loom & gas pipe were trapped between the plenum and exhuast manifold. The heat burnt out all the wiring loom and buggered up injector No.6. I've been told I was very lucky it didn't all catch fire!

Anyway the good news is it doesn't appear to have buggered the lpg ecu and is currently being repaired. No wonder the fuses were blowing  ;D ;D

One of those things :y

I tell ya, if the word 'lube' is mentioned I'm keeping out of the conversation  ;D .

So is everyone okay for pencilling in 23rd on their Calendar for the meeting to take place then?
As that's round the two-week mark from tomorrow (9th Oct).  And let’s hope that the weather holds up better than last time?  ::)

Stirer Dave, and I don't mean about the tea  ;D .

Dave / Dan if you have Wellung's number, can you try to contact him regarding the meeting to see if he's interest in coming.  I've try to text him twice and my text not getting through, so not sure if I'm being blocked?  ??? - Thanks.

I am now a possible for this due to my Brother is up from Devon this Friday and he is going back on the Sunday, so if you are still there in the mid afternoon I will pop over and see you all when he has gone.

Hi Simon72,

We usually meet around 12 and depending on how many turn up and other committments they we may have, we usually call it a day around 3 - 4pm.  If you want my number, you can give me a ring on the day for an update if you like?

Kind regards, Dave

Dave,

Thanks for answering some of the questions, as I haven't had the time to get on here in the evenings of late  :y

I have quick 5-10mins to spare in the afternoons at the moment, due to personal circumstances, so have to do a quick tour of the site to see if I've missed anything and that's it  :-\ .
This meeting will probably be my last time that I'll get over there for quite a while now, need to get myself sorted out in my personal life at the mo, as things gone a bit curve ball for me  :-\

So if any of you want to take the raines up for the November meeting please do, as I'd hate to see the meeting drift off  :y

Dave / Dan,
Did you have any luck getting hold of Wellung regarding this meeting?  ???

Hi mate,

It's not a "pub" meet as such, it's a preserved railway station which has a small cafe. This is where we usually start off chatting and having a drink & 'snack. We go out to the cars have a chat/look at each others motors and if anyone has a problem, then we'll try & fix it or advise!

Thats about it really, an informal chilled afternoon  :y

Also thanks Dave / Dan for taking over the rein's so-to-speak regarding the meetings and keeping them going  :y

Hoping that after Xmas I'll be all sorted and back to getting to the meetings and other gatherings  ;).

I'll be at this one coming up though, as I've got your airbox that I've done Dave and got a grill for Pippin, so need to get over anyhow.  Plus it'll be nice to get one last meeting while I can  ::) :y

Thanks all for a great turn out!  :y

Dan, I see your not well and been in bed.....the question is do we need to be told something?  The thing is Gooseman also called in sick and in bed!! Now you picked on me for car swopping with James, so are you trying to "out" do me now???   ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Anyway, we had a nice show of Omega's in great shape and proud owners and thanks to Clouseau for providing the pictures and for your advice earlier, cheers mate :y

Unless Mike (Gooseman), decides he's unable to arrange the next meet, Dan282 or myself with propose the dates for November, although it was spoken about possible dates today.

Thanks again all for a nice afternoon and hopefully see you all in a few weeeks :y

Sorry I couldn't make this meeting after all chaps... was well p'd off to be honest, as I'd been looking forward to this meeting for weeks.  Especially as has both myself and Dan been able to make it, looks like it would have been the biggest turn out.  :'(

Got a week off work and end up being ill for what looks like the whole week of it as well as missing the OOF meeting, so I'm not a happy bunny at the moment  >:(.  And can only just work up the effort into typing this out (sniff, sneeze, sniff).

Apologises to both Pippin & Viper for not making it as got your bits for you & let you down chaps  :( .
I'll have to arrange to bring the stuff to your place when I'm better.

Some good photos & yeah.... typical that the meeting I didn't turn up to has the better weather  ::) If it is next time I can't make it, have a feeling I'm going to be banned from ever turning up again  ::) ;D .

Dave / Dan, appreciate if you could take over the reins so to speak with arranging the future meetings for here.  I'll keep my eyes out and if can get to them I will, but can't promise anything at the moment, as I've said bit of a curve ball for me personally at the moment - Thanks for the offer of support though, much appreciated  :y

Hope to see you all soon and with better news - Keep up the meetings all  :y :y

I must admit, I've neglected the external cleaning of my baby this last week :(

Hands up, guilty as charged  ::)

Hi Gooseman

Not to worry about the parts now, unfortunately I am no longer in need of them as the car has been rudely taken to the great car park in the sky...
