How much are Vauxhall towbars new?
I know what the bumper and associated parts cost, but might be the difference between repair and write off :-\
-
ISTR that my Witter one was about £145 :-\ :-\
-
I lied... That was with all the extra bits too... I paid £78.50+VAT for the tow bar (shin breaker type) :y
Although I can't make any promises that the price is what you'll get as I'd bought a lot of stuff in that order ;) ;)

Think mine was factory fitted as part of the plod spec :-\
1/4" plate bolted to a 2 1/4"sq box, in turn bolted to 1/4" plates bolted through the boot floor and another 1/4" plate :o. Question in gen help will explain reason for asking.

Only your left one :o That just goes to show how stupid some places are... Given that most Jags are autos, I'd have held out for your right leg :D

i got mine off markymark so you know that was a while ago but the breakers on here might be able to help, theres something about after 1998 you cant fit used towbars but i think that was buying from a scrapyard but a private sale is different.somebody maybe able to correct me on this and i only paid £45 for it off him and its an easy fit

Cars made after '98 need type approved towbars (more eu toffs telling us what to do). Basically it means you can't make your own. Pretty sure you can fit second hand ones though. I swapped mine from mv6 to elite so if you can't that means the damp rags from the eu will be coming to get me.

i still have one attached to my 52 estate not got the ball but everything else is there..its free all you got to do is take it off make good any holes and make safe any wiring..only problem its in ramsgate kent unless i get time to come to a meet..newent is a definate
but anyones welcome to it

Ordered mine from VX about 6 yrs ago for my then yr 2000 mv6 estate it cost about 400 pounds which hurt badly @the time
Its a special made by Alco Kober the caravan chassis maker for Omega estates
What I really like about it is it's QD ball which is so easy to detach/reatach via a clip arrangement and also its very solid construction
Has to be a good investment as being retired we do a lot of towing miles
Presently posting this from a CC C/L nr Richmond in North Yorkshire ::) Gods Country :y

I got the bar for my facelift estate from fleabay,Brink detachable, brand new in the box for £115 delivered.I sold it with the car, should have pulled it off and sold it seperately :(
-
Oops Henryd,Sorry to hear that as Brink detachables are now no longer available for Omega with hindsight that was a bad oversignt although I don't think they ever did one for an estate could be wrong

Got a Westfalia detachable last year for around £300 including the electrics kit and vat. it had to come from Germany as there were none available in the UK? It is great bit of kit if a little on the high side in terms of price, works great for the caravan. :)
