Omega General Help / Re: probs that may be related
« on: 11 December 2009, 14:00:10 »
since posting this iv,e managed to get it running. had the lift pump out & there is a two wired plug that is connected inside may have but  cant be certain but it may have had a bad contact. the fuse under the bonnet that feeds it was blown (discovered by Ian) after it went back in situ i cranked it (when the starter motor allowed) & it started quite easy. Ian is calling round later so the battery & alternater will be checked out.  :)

Omega General Help / probs that may be related
« on: 11 December 2009, 09:02:09 »
whilst at IanD house one day ian detected a noise & thought it may be the alternater pulley. but the car was getting hard to start - starter motor issue. i cleaned it & and up till yesterday its been great. i had the intake manifold off at that time. i retightened the intake/m yesterday & that cured the screech that i thought was coming from the turbo(earlier post) bringing it to my present prob - did a few short journeys yesterday, the last one being 200mts or so before it dying - battery dead - at home discovered i had air in fuel system. ian,s told me to check lift pump & work forward. the starter/m is playing up again so cranking is a nightmare + batt is losing power

Omega General Help / td fuel prob
« on: 11 December 2009, 01:21:03 »
broke down today with what appears to be fuel starvation. the battery literally died on me immediately. a mate towed me home  i p/c it & 48, 84 Ian D came round with spare batteries . the codes dissappeared as soon as a battery with life was put on. the fuel system seems to be full of air. ian tried for over three hours but apart from a few  attempts to start & running for a few seconds it never went. tomorrow i,ll check for air leaks. when i get to the injector end - do i crack all injectors & crank till it starts then tighten up again. hopefully we can get it running to enable us to find out why the battery died so easy.

Omega General Help / Re: cleaning up after an old oil leak .........

youv,e not said what type of  surface it is. only if its concrete try mixing a bag of mortar mix on top of the stain - but dont do it on sets or tarmac. - being a brickie by trade i found out by accident that it helps get rid oil stains.
