lizzie - please do stay.  Reading your posts ( and many of the others on here) add to the rich tapestry that makes OOF an interesting place to drop in to.

But you can see from other very predictable comments why it is so hard to stay on this great forum that is only tainted by a few out to make life difficult for anyone who has different opinions to them.

I certainly am still questioning why I feel like I do and that is why I am going to remain, at least, in the shadows.  However, if a question on history arises, or something else not political...........well, I'll see!

Obvously, there are certain times when I`ve read ppl`s comments & winced a bit 
Some of these old farts don`t get out much & so it`s understandable if they over step the mark on occassion

If I felt it neccessary to leave a site three, and this half , times due to taking umbridge (each time ) in a thread within General Chat  I'd at least stay out of that section........

You are absolutely right on the fact I decided to contribute to General Chat after previous experiences, but I also forgive and give others another chance.  It was not umbridge that made me decide to completely leave previously, but my anger over unnecessary hateful comments.  I am an emotional and sensitive female, which I am not ashamed about, but do not take fools gladly.  I have reached that point again of why?; why do I put myself through this nonsense and bother about it in my retirement?

Got better things to do, with a lot of history still to read!

Following a line of posts on my thread about Women in Iran, it it clear to me yet again that I as a women do not belong on here. It is clear that I don't fit on here with some of the very few who now post.  I just can't be bothered to play these stupid games anymore.

There was a time when being on the OOF was just fun and there was no one being, or trying to be, clever.  Just normal folk discussion on General Chat about interesting subjects, without having to justify anything particularly.

I am not expecting anything to change so I will now return to solely looking after my precious Omega, but thanks to those few who have made posting worthwhile

I fully believe in equality and equality of opportunity, so how successful you are in life is in your hands.

The problems with discrimination positive or negative is that you can't have one without the other. One person's positive discrimination advantage is another person's disadvantage.

One good appalling example of this is the positive look the other way social integration of Muslim men into the UK. Yes, the vast majority are law abiding, but the grooming, raping and murdering by pedophile Asian men of 1000's of young white girls from the age of 11 upwards with the police, councils and social workers looking the other way in the name of positive social integration of minorities in an appalling stain on the reputation of this country in providing equality to all. Young girls being drawn into situations that they can't cope with and then being brushed off by the people that should be (and are paid) to protect them, so they have nobody to turn to for help and I think is a damning indictment on all those that have failed them

More and more people in Europe are beginning to realize that the cultural and civil values imposed by a religion stuck with values from the middle ages is not compatible with 21st century Western values. There are many Muslims that have adopted more liberal values and have integrated into UK society but there are also a considerable hard-line minority that haven't and push hard for us to join them or be murdered as kafirs. They are quite happy to tap into Western wealth and tolerance while trying to undermine and destroy our society. Irony BTW is where I have stated this in the past, I've been called out by the person that started this thread with insults like I'm a racist and fascist, where I'm neither, but I'm also not an appeaser or apologist when things are plainly wrong either.

When have I ever called you that??  Why would I?

Probably my Cranky Mind, but when ever I see one of those Wind Turbine thingys I always think (or try and work out) what the actual speed is of the leading edge of the Blade, then after some considerable consideration, normally about 20 seconds the theme always moves into, I wonder how long Someone would last being strapped to one of them at the edge? 

I reckon about 5 mins before passing out on a good spinner, probably about 15 mins before your Body and Brain just totally give up the ghost. 

I was told a few years ago that it was 190mph, i didn`t believe them so I googled it and google came up with the same speed.

It really doesn`t look that fast

That would explain in part why corrosion on the leading edge can be such a problem.
