The back box for the 3.0 with the twin pipes, will that foul against the gap in the bottom of the bumper or were the bumpers for all facelift saloons the same, meaning that the twin pipes will protrude through the gap comfortably ?
[/quoteive fitted a 3 litre twin exit on my 2.5 with no issues. :y

Bang em in, and whack em up. Job done. It's a suspension bolt, as long as it's tight it won't move. :y

That. They're big bolts, you've got to try really hard to damage them.
thank you but i do every thing up with a torque wrench so guess ill invest in a manual. :y

Driveshaft bolts and the hub nuts are the only ones to worry about torque numbers.

When I last did rear wheel bearing, hub nut was whacked up with windy gun, then big 1/2 socket bar, seems to have stayed tight, and the driveshaft bolts are only m8, so with a 3/8 ratchet you shouldn't break em.

The vacuum system also powers the heating and ventilation controls and the brake servo. The brake servo is itself a vacuum reservoir.

Oldest system has one vacuum reservoir/tank, newer system has two (one does engine, the other does heat & vent).

Pre-facelift have a vacuum operated valve for the secondary air injection (SAI), this was deleted on the later cars.

They are needed because the inlet vacuum disappears on full throttle so without the reservoirs you lose heating controls and multiram flap control. (you can dispense with the SAI plumbing with no penalty other than it will take longer for the cats to warm up)
iam going to keep the one that does the heater, but i want to loose the one that is mounted at the front of the engine. :y

Omega General Help / Re: rear brake pins
« on: 30 March 2019, 01:01:02 »
Not sure you've actually confirmed if the car you are dealing with is a later V6 with ventilated rear discs or not? Assuming you have ventilated then you can in all probability re-use the pins. They are not in a beauty contest, just clean them up with a fine wire brush or similar.

The cross springs are a different matter. They corrode, especially around the rivet. So I would clean them far more carefully. More of an attempt at longer term preservation.
sorry mine is a 2.5  :y
