This Was the One of the First Things I ripped Out Of My Omega 2Litre CD i hated it Did not play half of my CD's and the quility was a little naff, i dont really miss the steering wheel controls. I cant believe how much a CCR2006 head unit costs you can get far better for a fraction of the price, Mine is sitting in the basement collecting dust ill keep it as if i sell the car ill put it back in.

I agree the cost of a new unit would have seen me going for something different but the £117 for a refurbed unit seemed okay especially as it retains the functionality of the all the controls without hooking up additional interfaces. Having the tape player is good for getting the old stuff out and getting peace to listen to it without complaints from the rest of the family.

The CD safe one is strange as I flattened the battery the night I was trying to repair the original unit, too many interior lights on, and have since had all the units in and out on a number of occasions but have only had to enter the one code for the main unit. The CD player is basically a slave unit attached through the radio cassette by the ribbon cable so you would have thought if there was additional security on the CD player a code would have been supplied.

If the amp requires a line out feed does that mean that there are different units to suit the application as I have not seen any reference to an amp for the non bose setup so surely there must be some amplification built into the unit. I admit that apart from matching speakers and amps this is one area where I am pretty weak but I would have thought that a standard unit would have been fitted and any adjustments required to suit the Bose amp would have been built into the loom. No amplification would explain why there are so many complaints on lack of sound quality though.
