Hey, I went to tear her down and came across some black box behind the right side front fender. (forgot to take photo) What is it? Just wondering, could learn a new thing

Overall the engine room looked pretty bad, for what it seemed from closer look engine is fine (that's a relief) but everything else is kinda scrap.

I decided to be without a car for a while, get more money maybe start a real project or something.

So umm, what I read it's a filter that storages fuel vapors when engine is not running and then sends it to the air intake system along the fresh air coming trough it when engine is running, am I right?
And why is that?

Charcoal canister absorbs fuel vapour from the fuel tank breather. When purge valve solenoid opens (via engine ECU) the engine pulls the vapours in and burns them instead of venting them direct to the atmosphere

So I couldn't be long without Omega

This is couple minutes after bying decision.


I got home and washed it.
Couple rock hits in front.


Engine cleaning.


Vacuuming and cleaning inside of the car.













Bought it month ago and until now I've been fixing all kind of small things.
Still got to get back foglight to work and front lights aren't properly in place
or something there is wrong because they feel like the inside of the lamp
isn't in place in anyway.

Are those Vectra B alloys in the garage

Yes, those are vectra b wheels, my dad has an 2.6 vectra

Looks like I'm going to do some suspension update, because as I changed summer tires I noticed left hand side rear spring is broken.
I'm not sure yet should I buy original or KW Variante 1 or something else.

Update.

Headlights were broken, project started.


Had the old headlights from the silver MV6, they were non xenon so started to tear the headlights apart and hoping it would become something nice


The sikaflex was draining and decided to put the camera on even nicer than in the silver MV6.




Drained headlights on. I think it's nice



And today changed original rear springs. Would it been easier if I had the whole rear lifted up??


EDIT: I think my thermostat is broken, this has even worse problems with the heat than the silver MV6.
What is easier way to say that the thermostat is broken? I think I change the liquids first but if even after that it heats up a little bit more than usually I want to do something.

Thermostat needs replaced , thermostat is knackered  Nice work ..keep going until the end

Hello OOF!

Here's thermostat replace photos and car washed I can tell you I'm not going to do that again any soon...
I see B-Bolt has its name for a reason, but altought I did survive replacing thermostat with help of my dad!


Here's the place where it all happened


Here's how it started.


Until this it'd been pretty easy.


And now the job started.


We just couldn't get it off as one peace so this is how it looked after remowing


New one, 55eur+couple o-rings 4eur


New one almost in place, at this point it took nearly an hour to get the B-Bolt back in...


New one in place and everything ready to put together.


All bolts was used, strange from usual engine repairs... Well engine running smoothly again and everything works.




20km driven heat now keeps itself in about 91-95 degrees. Tells me that there could still be some air but now definetly better because before the replace I was driving in highway and it was about 94-96 degrees, when stopped it got to 97-100...
Now couple times water out water in and then glycols inside.
