Hi guys, it's been a while.
After owning lots of different cars, i came back to Omega..

This one is 2002. 2.5 DTI (M57 110 kw BMW engine) 266k km on the clock, no faults no black or blue smoke on the exhaust, usual rust on dors and back wheel arches. Only two trim items missing are electro folding mirrors, telephone and rear but heaters.
Front arms need replacement ( boughted new), probably mufler(s) and that' it
One owner since new, 70year old guy who hasn't been able to drive for a while. She was sitting near Belgrade.I took it for a price of a new I phone, covered 800 km to see what needs to be done.
Now she is going to bee parked, she'l get total respray ( considering OPC Arden Blue), entherior rebuild, fitting original windscreen with UV protection and rain sensor, and some Irmscher bumpers ( if I manage to negotiate a good deal).
Plan is to buy another donor Omega for lot's of little things that need to be changed ( carpets, plastic trims, lights)
Also considering Keskin KT5 wheels.
In past years I owned lots of different cars ( E 300TD, Lancia Thesis 2.0T, Signum, Vectra, Peugeot 607, A6 2.0TDI Sline, etc) and none of them make me feel good while driving like Omega.

It doesn't look too bad at all bodily!
I think the first job I would be doing is clearing out the scuttle drains - looks like there may be an accumulation of leaves in there which may cause a good few hours work to dry the interior out and / or replace the heater resistor as a result of heavy rain if the scuttle is blocked, rather than the few minutes to clear it as a precaution!
But then, I dont suppose you have the amount of rain we do in the UK.....

First ting i've done. There was some dirt but for my surprise nothing special.
Carpets needs replacement. Car had coolant leakage ( service history says cabin radiator was replaced two years ago).
Drivers seat heating isn't working, still thinking should I try to fresh these seats up or to replace them.
Two parking sensors dont work, and I cant find speaker nowhere. First I'll try to remove rear bumper to check the wires.
Front suspension is nearly completed.I bought new front arms, steering rod ends, and stabilizers. Still deciding on switching to MV6 sport suspension..
After cleaning it looks little better..

I stared with striping, to see what can i expect.

Only one sensor is working, but wires look ok. Adding those on the list.

As far as I can see, this is the biggest rust isue. Floor looks good, only other rusty place is panel below spare tyre.
Rear bumper rod needs replacement. Exhaust seems ok but I sense some vibration on idle. Cant figure is it him or maybe engine mount or something else.
I also removed HU to clean the lenses. Bose is working fine as faar as I can tell.

You've not taken the plastic sill/cill covers off yet then 
 i'd expect rust looking at the rust you found so far

wasn't the problem, because it was hiding this:





and the holes in the sill were visible from the inside, without removing the cover. The other side was only better because there wasn't the hole in the door shut.


You might want to unclip the bumper and examine what's left of the wheelarch under it:

I'll start with plastic removal tomorrow, then we'll see are there any surprises..
I dont find this tragic for 18 Years old car. I had bigger rust issues two years ago with 2004 X type Estate imported from Holland..
Does anyone know is it possible to fit pre-facelift boot lip spoiler to facelift?

I am considering this one for donor car. It's not FL but it is full spec 2.5 TD manual..

No, pre-facelift and facelift bootlids are different shapes and the spoilers are not interchangeable.

I played with NCDC today.
As it refused to play any kind of CD-s I decided to clean the lenses.
I used only cotton cloth and distilled water. I also used scuba diving tank as air compressor to blow some of that dust off.



Result is fantastic. Both sockets work fine, reading even white Verbatim burned CD-s

Well done with the NCDC issue, I have managed to resurrect a few Nav drives by cleaning the lense properly in the same way

Usually Cd changer refuse to cooperate, but as I can see this was the first time someone opened the unit. Al decals and warranty stickers were in place.
