Welding is done,
She should be resprayed at the end of the week,i hope..
Entire underbody and wheel arches are rust protected.
I hope I'll start with assembly on Monday.



I decided not to change the color. OPC Arden blue and BMW M blue were taken into consideration, but Omegas are becoming rare anyway, especially in this color.

Respray almost completed. Still waiting for bumpers and side skirts and old lady is good to go.


I'we been playing with insulation material. I filled door panels, floor where it was possible, and some other places.

Now when I close door that ''click'' sound is much more solid. It should improve sound and temperature insulation and reduce vibrations. We'll see when I bring Bose back, and start driving.

Passed MOT with ''Fluying colours'' 
If anyone is interested, MOT was 29 Pounds here in Serbia.
Basic insurance, registration, taxes, new licence plates etc 457.
Additional glass insurance will be around 36.
In total: 522 Pounds (I converted local dinar prices to pound). Transport to MOT place and back cost me only some time and some fuel,T-reg is mine, trailer was borrowed from a friend.
BTW AirMatic is fine I just parked it on uneven surface

Looks amazing. Love the blue omegas. I once had a prefacelift in Nocturn Blue (I think that was the name). It changed colour in different light. Much nicer than silver.

Some (not so) good news about Omega.
In past weeks I'we changed oil, filters, both V belts, rollers, tensioners, front right engine mount, front arms, and faulty Turbo hose clamp.
I still feel some vibrations caused probably by small rear mounts under the transmission.

Couple days ago, while sitting on the traffic light, car suddenly staled, and I couldn't start it again. Towed her back, changed everything possible from donor car, cranck sensor, cam sensor, both fuel pumps, ECU, checked fuel lines, checked if there is pressure on fuel rail, there are no faults on "My Naff Code Reader", check engine doesn't light. I looked if the small chain isn't snapped, and everything looks ok.
She cranks normally but no start.
I lost ideas ( and energy) to figure  out what could be the problem . Guess I'll wait my repair guy to come back from holliday

You might be getting pressure, but is it enough pressure?

Is there a filter on the lift pump? If not, there could be a partial blockage in the fuel lines.

Two other thoughts, is it a bad tank of diesel with alot of water in it? You did fill it with diesel and not petrol

Fuel is freshly added two weeks ago, she ran on it around 100 miles, tank is 1/3 full at this moment, but it did cross my mind to change the fuel anyway.
If it doesn't solve the problem, I could use that fuel in T-reg.
When I was checking lift pump I cleaned fuel filter, Pump is working normally. But I did notice that return fuel hose is not connected to anything, and I can't remember how is it supposed to be connected

Update:
After more than a month, we managed to start that damn bmw engine. It turns out that High pressure fuel pump decided to die. I had a spare one from the donor car, but that's not the end of troubles.
Car starts fine, idles fine, revs fine, but after one minute of idling it starts to blow out lots and lots of white smoke.
Repair guy suspects on turbo, I lost all my will to deal with this,  and to put a cherry on top someone scratched entire bonnet and driver door while car was sitting in front of the repair shop...

Seems such a pity to give up now after having come so far.Really sad that people[jealous??] feel the need to damage others property for no reason.

I don't understand it ether. Car needs to go back to painter fore some minor fixes anyway so i hope he'll be able to fix that. Main problem is that smoke, I'm planing a road trip next weekend so I really hope that turbo rebuild will fix that.

Poor bi*ch is on the road again.


I took her back today afternoon after turbo reassembling. I took her for a ride, she stopped smoking but now there is another problem.
Turns out that white smoke was caused by endless cranking while trying to detect the first problem ( HPFP ). My (ex) mechanic removed turbo for no reason, suspecting he caused white smoke. During testing they managed to do something with it. He confessed that turbo service didn't assembly turbo back as it should, they did the work again and now i suffer from black smoke when I floor it. Also she runs like 2.0 DTI, especially in mid range.
Scratches are 80% sorted with polishing but still visible. She is going back to painter anyway so that doesn't bother me that much.
I'll try to drive her some more to see is this black smoke maybe caused by sitting for 3 months, bit i doubt..

Gremlin found. My (ex) mechanic forgot to reconect intercooler hose. Smoke is allmost gone and she goes almost normal. I guess I need to drive it around a bit after all that sitting. I will put some fuel additive so we'll see what happens.
