looking to trade in my mig on a newer car,, am going to remove the stereo, the stereo takes the sim card as you all know, so it will be up for grabsn the sim is the original sim that was in when car was new, and it will have some credit on, the only thing is the volume on the unit doesnt work i think, but i used the volume on the steering wheel, which works as it should, also will be removing the boot changer, all codes included, feel free to send in any offers if any one is interested.. but what do they go for £££££££££££

just fodling my new car and realising its got more gadgets than sainsbury's, i found a simcard in the stereo and upon investigation, the car is one bloody great big mobile phone, thru the ice system, it fully works as when i ring out it asks me to top up the card with credit, what i was wondering is are they locked into one network, this one is still BT Cellnet, or can i use another sim.

Omega General Help / arrgh, ignition key problem with the mig

got in it earlier to collect the kids and the key wouldnt turn in the barrel, not even to position one, i am assuming the bvarrel hath collapsed inside wise, i have rung arong various breakers in the area and the only ones available are from an astra, would they fit, if not, what others would fit the omega, its a 99 (s), and are they easy to remove, taking into account the barrel wont turn at all.

Omega General Help / power steering pump of steering rack

steering a very stiff and jerky, when the engin is revved it eases, i have arranged for a 2nd hand pump from an oofer, but the mechanic says it could be the rack, surely if it was the rack then the steering would be the same weather the egin was revved or not, some times its worse than other times

how do i replace the outer trim, i finally got one to replace the old twisted door trim, but how do the originals come off without damaging the door and do i simply stick the new one on with trim tape

just checked the power steering fluid level I think i got the right one, the black tank to the right rearish of the engin, with the star shaped cap, is there a type of fluid thats best for the car

Omega General Help / stiff/jerky steering and rattle from front end

the mig has developed stiff/jerky steering while stood still (engin on), it seems ok when driving , also a rattle has developed from the front end and it sound like its coming from the drivers side, just thinking it may be the steering pump, would that cause a rattle, any ideas would be great :-/

Omega General Help / rear passenger door strip removal help

the door strip on the rear passenger door needs to come off as i have a replacement, how do i remove the strip, i only have a strip from a scrap yard as a replacement so if there is a backing plate that allows it to be attached to the car then i need to keep this on, there is a metal strip behind the plastic on the replacement but it looks like this is needed to affix to the car
how are these strips removed without damaging the plate that is affixed to the door

Omega General Help / Heater fan sounds like something catching

came back from florida,  heater fan was ok, next day it sounded like a bicycle with a fag packets catching the wheels, what i suspect is there is something catching on the fan, it gets louder when i turn the fan strength up and quieter when turned down, it may be the really cold weather but dint seem as effectinve when warming the car. But this may be that there is an obsruction, is the heater fan easy to access and is there a walk thru on here.

Omega General Help / Mechanic coming to fix my baby today

got the mechy coming to fix my baby today, she has only driven 10 miles since last sunday.
Its the ioil leek that appeared after fitting wonga gaskets to the rocker covers.
so irt seams i need to instruct this guy on exactly what i need doing.
what do i exactly need to him to do to stop this leak reacurring,
check cam cover
check crank seals
clean ALL breather pipes
replace rocker gaskets
any thing else i have missed, incase its not the gaskets that were blown. ??

Omega General Help / new oil leak.

had my rocker gaskets renewed as you know a while ago and thats just fine, just been checking my oil and noticed a new oil leak, oil is gathering along the rim of the sump and looks like its dripping from the back of the engin area and when the car is hot i can smell hot oil that must be dripping on to the manifold, as you can feel the heat from under the car and thats when i can smell the hot oil. it not leaking mmuch but is there a common place around that area for an  oil leak..
