I reckon the last two turns on the threads on the top nuts could be fubar too........

I remember some clown on clubcalibra.com saying he was going to use big cable ties as spring clamps....nugget!

Had my lads Ka fail on a front spring last week. It was Friday, they weren't open on a Saturday and my wife had to have a car for this week as I've been away in hers for 4 days. My compressors were 100 miles away at my parents and after buying the spring I had £3 left in my pocket so couldn't buy any. Still got it done and MOT'ed by 4:00.

All I can say is, if I saw one of my kids doing it the way I did it I would have torn them a new backside!!!!

ratchet straps, in halfords, cheaper than compresors by a fare bit too.
