Dream car,Ford RS200

When those 6 numbers come up this is going in my living room, I remember drooling over this exact one when I was 16 at fast lane sport cars in Chorley.

I'm holding out for the Euro Millions jackpot.

Big boyhood fan of Mark Lovell here, (was there a faster Brit on tarmac?), so I too would love a RS200.

Would be a shame not to add to the stable a 205 T16, Metro 6R4, Quatrro S1, Delta S4, 037, two Manta 400's, (one in Brookes 'Heat for Hire' colours and the other in McRae's AC Delco livery), Collin McRaes Legacy, Ari Vatanen's 'Black Escort', Dick Johnsons Greens Tuff Falcon, Dick Johnson Shell Sierra, one of Brockie's No;5 Mobil Commodores, an Andy Rouse Sierra, a Frank Sytner E30 M3, and a TWR V12 XJS as raced at Bathurst.

Might as well add one of the Bastos Rover SD1's, Marku Alen's old 131 mirafiori's and Henri Toivenons old Sunbeam Lotus  ;D

There, that lot should keep me busy for a while.

............and a Pentti Arrikkala Chevette HS, or maybe a Tony Pond HSR. :y

RS200 with over 700bhp, being driven by the man who mastered it above all others.

I got the chance to stand very close to the trackside and the startline on a few occasions, and they were scarily fast close up.
Martin Schanche was a crazy genius, had some huge accidents. Even ran into the middle of the track to try to stop the race when someone pushed him off. Hugely exciting to watch.
Raalycross was the best motorsport to spectate at bar none in the late 80,s and 90,s

Watching the rallycross led me here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5b2S_MvE4Ug&NR=1&feature=fvwp

It gets interesting about 50 seconds in .. and even more so about 10 seconds after that when someones wheels fall off!

Given the choice it would be the RS200 or 205 T16 for me.

woody beat me to it, used to see the bodywork for the RS200 over at their works in Tamworth.  Say what you like about their 3-wheelers, their work was to a good standard and they did a fair bit of stuff for other people.

I remember one of these being displayed in a car show where I live many years ago, with the engine cover up - it looked absolutely awesome, so far ahead of its time back then. I've wanted one ever since  :y

That number plate rings a bell actually

The ones in the rallycross were highly modified and tuned versions of the 'group B' cars - iirc Will Gollops black and gold Silkolene 6R4 was a bi-turbo (was n/a in group b rally form) and would theortically out accellerate to 100mph the F1 car of the day! Only the short gearing for rally cross stopped 'beating' one at higher speeds

Guess this gives me an excuse to dig out the Goodwood photos from the last couple of years:-
