Did you guess right?? MINE!!! lol She's frickin' alive again! It's like all my christmas' have come at once!!  :D

Finished rebuilding her at about 8pm, filled up the vitals (oil and water), turned her over a couple of times to circulate the oil and then started her.....Started on the first turn of the key!  :)

One question, i only ran her for a few minutes because she started to smoke from the engine bay (smelt like something being burnt off, like oil or degreaser or something), should i be worried? I thought i'd do the proper first run tomorrow......

Here she is as she stands (minus the alloys);






V6 RWD FUN HAS RETURNED ONCE AGAIN!!!!!

Not sure i should have 2 posts really....But i'm too happy to care! lol

I just hope everything settles in nicely. If she does, i think i'll have a fair few miles of problem-free motoring, fingers crossed  :)

As a responsible person who has broken a fingernail or two during the rebuild, no doubt you will be taking your time to let things settle a wee bit before you boot the b*ll*cks off it and mebbe break it again?

Like any honed athlete, its better to warm up slightly before giving it your all, rather than be expected to sprint from sleep at the sound of the gun!!   ;D

600 mile run-in fella  ;) That means no booting it, loading it or going much over the half way mark on the accelerator!! But it'll just be great to be cruising about in her  :) Obviously i'll gradually open her up a bit at a time, but for the first 200-300 miles i'll be going very gently on her.

I'm quite glad i'm a mechanic and not a nut as well! But some guys on here helped me through the bad/hard times....

Burning smell is normal after a big engine job. It is just the greasy finger marks and odd spills burning off. It will stop after the first few miles or hours. just check that it isn't anything more sinister like rocker gaskets, but I don't think you'll have any probs.

Very nice feeling isn't it. Better than taking it to VX to break!
