Omega General Help / heaters and power steering gone???

Hi this morning when i was driving out of road noticed steering felt a little heavy and none of the heater controls or heated seats and ciggy lighter not wprking, is this just a fuse? power steering?? Thanks in advance

Omega General Help / Key wont turn in ignition

Hi got a little problem ignition had been playing up a little by having to wiggle the key a little to make it turn now i have just gone to go out and it wont turn at all now. Plus the wheel is locked blocking the screws to take the capping off from around ignition. Is this the barrel knackered? How much for a new one? Or is there something i can do to get it going. Omega General Help / Auto gearbox

Need to change the gearbox in my S plate 3.0l estate auto it has a massive leak on it and now it only has 1st gear all this has happened pretty quickly since buying the car had a look around at the price of getting this looked at and the cost of repairing and to me just buying a second hand one seems the way to go, yes i know could get same problem again but not spending a fortune on it.

Read a couple of posts saying half an hour to get the old one out and about an hour to get the new one in seems optimistic to me is this true?? also is there an ecu to match gearbox? and does it have to be from a 3.0L or is the 2.5L the same?

Omega General Help / 2L of DEXRON 111 in under 200 miles

Have a major gear box leak as above i have gone through nearly 2 litres of atf in under 200 miles problem i have is finding where it is coming from as bottom of car is covered in oil it seems to leak more when you have put your foot down a bit. What would be most common prob? Would a second hand box be the way to go? How long to change the box? Many thanks in advance.

Need to replace drivers side suspension how much are these units roughly? Also was maybe thinking of lowering the car slightly is this poss and if so how low can you take it? I have my tools and cable in the boot so this needs to be taken in to consideration. How much would this cost anyone done it?

Hi just had car on the ramp and looks like gearbox oil leak. There are what looks to be like 2 sumps for gear box do you use same oil for both or seperate ones also what oil is recommended? Many thanks

Hi when pulling off from a junction car occasionally gives a bit of a thud from the back and sometimes revs but doesnt move then all of a sudden feels like it catches a cog and thuds and moves off again all other gears are fine not sure whether this would be diff or gearbox. What you guys think and how much to fix and how hard is the job? Many thanks in advance for help.

Whats the best way to have hands free in the car? I cant wear the ear phone as it cracks me up and kills after a while ( must have funny shaped ears ) Would the factory head unit think its a cctr800 or something? Would that go straight in and work if i could find one? Really need to sort something out as getting 3 points for being on your phone would not be good. Thanks in advance.

Replacing the covers on my 3.0L this week, i heard somewhere that you should use vectra ones as they are metal not plastic is this true? Also would they fit the 3.0L if from a vectra?How much? Thanks in advance

Omega General Help / Knocking over speed bump

Eventually got my omega estate 3.0L elite with all the toys for a very good price, needs a couple of bits doing though. One is when i drive over a speed bump or hit a pot hole there is a knock from the front as if something is loose it also does it when you hit the brake sharply. Car will be going up on the ramp tomorrow so just like to know whats the common thing that this could be so we are not wastin loads of time looking everywhere? Many thanks Steve.

Hi just seen an omega for sale but the airbag and ABS lights remain on and the speedometer and milage gauges do not work. What would this be? and is it an expensive or akward job to fix?? Car is a W reg new shape elite
