carlton one can be fitted in the omega casing, the mv6 is a straight bolt on replacement BUT!!!!!
both are a different final drive ratio to the standard one fitted the td, think td is 3.45 whereas the others are around 3.08 or something would make it very long legged and probably take an age to get up on the turbo? and wouldnt hold top gear on hills maybe? have to try it and see i reckon!! :y

Is the gearing the same, are the diffs different?

Tbh, no idea, would have thought it would be close to Omega 3.0 Auto?

As G says TD ones are shorter, guessing due to lower revs?  :-/

was talking till a local omega breaker. he says the carlton diff has to be built into the omega diff housing and that he has had loads of 2.5td megs with mv6 lsd's and that the drove fine and didnt notice much difference in driving them as far as gearing

is this true?
