My recollection of the grille on my pre-facelift was that it had a peg at the bottom in the middle that fitted in a grommet in the bumper and two screw fixings at the top.

If the e-bay picture is of the item for sale then I would say it is for pre-facelift (and won't fit a facelift).

so you can see my dilemma.
I've not got money to be chucking at it. Hence looking for a reasonable badgeless grill replacement that's not going to cost me £100 or so.

I give up lol.
I'll just leave it standard for a while lol

i think i have one of those as shown in the advert in my shed, i took it out of my minifacelift as soon as i bought it , so yes it will fit your prefacelift    i took it out of the car because it really does look cheap and nasty but for the cost of postage i will send it to you then you can see for yourself, i mean £24.99 that is a total rip off m8, send me a pm with your address and i will send it to you forget the postage and then you will see how bad they actually are, you are really better saving and buying a decent one 
ohhh as a bonus it wont be cluttering up  my shed

must admit, i have a gen irmy mesh grill on my mv6 & yes it is alot better than the cheap copies.

Don't do it that grill is absolutely hideous. It looks more B&Q then Irmscher.

Keep it and put it to some use across the top of the barbeque keeping the sausages and burgers warm
