3.0 Manual should do better in my experiance, used to get around 27 MPG around town and 34 plus on a run from my old MV6 Estate. Will depend on the condition of the car of course and you tend to get a bit more economy if you chip em.

My ex drives a 2.2 Manual and struggles to get my 3.0 MPG figures, but she does use the right peddle as though it is an On / Off switch.

Relatively small engine powering a heavy car means large throttle openings and predictably poor MPG.

My 3.0l auto estate does more than that!

I guess it all depends on which 'town' you're driving around. The last time they dug the road up that leads to my lads school, I was averaging 11mpg.

Doesn't matter how many pots it has, She can make sitting in the Passenger Seat a very scary experience.

In between tilting your Head to the right and lifting your left Shoulder when over taking Parked Cars, you cant help thinking to yourself 'when did I last replace the brake pads on this thing'.

This is the same woman who destroyed the Head Gaskets and emptied the coolant in less than 15 mins on a perfectly good V6 Plod.

Going in the forward direction is bad enough, but when the car rarely comes to a halt and the front recovers from a nose dive position, when you here that crunch of the Reverse Gear being selected, be afraid, be very afraid !!
