Title: What is wrong with this Vectra?
Post by: terry paget on 21 May 2019, 08:19:57
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-vectra-2-2-sri-2006-very-low-miles-very-good-condition-please-read/254234800351?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
I suppose the Vectra 2.2 uses the same engine as the Omega 2.2. I must resist bargains like this, but sounds to me like plugs or coil pack.

That might be a bargain Terry, but I'd go and see it before you buy it.  :y

It's got 3 days left and Martock is just down the road.  :)

Having said that I bought my V70 blind and went to Canterbury to collect it.  ::)

Could well be a bargain if coil pack and plugs sort it,I'd be concerned if its been driven far like that as unburnt fuel into the Cat will not have done it much good.

Hold tight, Terry's found another eBay bargain, what could possibly go wrong...  :D

I like the, I'm no mechanic but a fitter at work, said..  As they say could be genuine..

They do cylinder shutdown in the event of a cylinder misfire (to stop that)  :y

It will be the direct injection petrol and not the same as the Omega/Frontera 2.2i

I read about fuel pump problems a while back. Don't know how common this is.

Fortunately the Signum is a completely different car. No shared parts. :)

What's wrong with it:

It's a Vectra
No MOT
Doesn't run well
Paperwork is all over the place so can't be relied upon
The seller isn't the owner.
You're not good at buying cheap cars.

It's at £155 at the moment and for me is the sort of gamble that might be worth considering if I could push it home after looking at it.

You can assume if it was a cheap fix, the "seller"/mate/garage/whatever would have done it to get a better price.

Maybe not if the old boy isn't around to foot the bill if it doesn't sell
