no roof rack and one piece of string. ;D ;D
I once followed a car in our local Spanish town with a double bed mattress on the roof. It came off on a roundabout - held on with nothing. :o

Two sheds tied together then. :D

Nothing surprises me anymore 😀😁😂

Many years ago my brother-in-law bought a second hand greenhouse. The advert said 'buyer to dismantle and collect'. We arrived at the sellers house, removed the glass from it and stacked it safely in his van. We then lifted the complete greenhouse over and on to his van, strapped it down, climbed in through the van side door and drove home.
We still laugh about it now. ;D

Sounds about right for Devon/cornwall, personally I would have pointed the roof to the front to make it more aerodynamic. ::)

Wonder what was in the shed? Assorted gardening tools and some vegetables? ;D

Was he on his way past Brackley?

Something kind of similar happened yesterday morning....
I was on the M25 anti clockwise between the A13 & A12, in the middle lane. On the inside lane was a landscaping/fencing pick up, like
the waste pick up's with the high sided mesh all the way round...so he's got a pile of fence panels laid down in the back & as I'm approaching his offside rear, a panel flies off the back...then another, then another, then another 4! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I blasted him several times, he was completely oblivious but then pulled onto the hs. It was still quite early, thankfully there was no one immediately behind him :o

Sorry, I didn't mean to kidnap the story... ;)

Good story. Brother in law was following a flat bed truck with two foot high sides when suddenly an 8x4 sheet of wood lifted up. He swerved but it still hit thescreen and pillar of his escort.. truck never even stopped.

Bargain, he saved the store £5 delivery cost and got fined £50. ;D ;D ;D

I transported a 2.1m x 1.5m shed home on the roof of the Nova many years ago, all be it in flat pack form and well secured.
Still got the shed.....
