If it is the HBV then it can be made better or worse by setting the climate control on both sides to HI or LO  :y..

Thanks for that great tip on Hi and low heater settings DG. Low leaks like a sieve from Hbv, high barely a drip. Took down the M1 to staples corner, and back to Watford. At least I can get the motor to Sereks on Thursday  :y

Great tip on high and low heater settings, everything under control in Hi. I'm a lot more confident I can make to SOS on Thursday.  Appreciate your advise DG  :y :y

No worries  ;)

Just take a couple of gallons of water just in case and watch the temperature gauge... Any signs of a problem and pull over and check it.

Changed around four front bearings now (different cars!), one failed prematurely from water ingress I think - due to missing cap. Others been changed due to excess play, the most recent one was on the daily at around 236K and appeared to be the original one.
