Well done on getting it fixed. I'm sure that I would have bottled out long before you did. Good result.  :y

Why not repost in the 'General Chat' area. That way more people may read about it.

As for the t-cut mate iam no where near that brave [smiley=grin.gif] [smiley=grin.gif] [smiley=grin.gif]

He's not wrong there. I am really chuffed about these bulbs and I am indebted to Chopsdad for pointing them out in a previous thread. In fairness, he only recommended them because they come in a shiny silver box.  ;D

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Facelift Double Din Facia

Hi,
There is a double din fascia available for an omega from www.caraudiodirect.com

Beware though, To put in a double din unit you have to modify the fascia and may need to spray it depending on the colour of your dash.

I have just fitted a Kenwod DDX 7029 with blutooth kit and Ipod lead to my 2002 2.6 CDX and it fits but only just.
Firstly yu have to take the entire centre cosole to bits - this is easy enough.
Then you have to drill the sides of the plastic rear dash casing so you can screw the head unit direct to it as the mounting cage wil not fit.
The you have to very carefully strap all the wires out of the way at the back of the head unit as there is very limited spcae at the rear of the centre console.

With a little DIY and perseverace it does fit and you cannot beat the Kenwood DDX 7029, the sound is awesome, the bluetooth kit is second to none and it has the fastest Ipod controls of any head unit on the market.

I got the whole lot delivered dor £630, including Omega wiring loom and fascia.
From www.audiocar.co.uk
Ask for Mike appleton if you contact them he will sort the price out and if you need tech advice Ian the MD is more than happy to give you help over the phone, a great company.

If anyone has any questions or wants to know how I fitted mine, drop me an email on n6oop@hotmail.co.uk

Obvious first question, where did you put the microphone from the bluetooth and the ipod? Cheers!

Don't hold your breath for an answer. He hasn't been on line since June.  :y

Out of interest, the wife bought £10 top up for one of the kids new phones last weekend. O2 gave her a free sim card. It's a deal they have at the moment, she didn't even have to ask for it.  :y

I just found this place online. Looks like an Aladin's cave of light bulbs and cheap too.  :y

If that's made by VDO Dayton, why not have a look HERE and contact one of the service centres for advice.

It may help.  :)

I just wish I could do it without removing the seat  :-/ to avoid the airbag light coming on.

Don't quote me on this but I believe that if you disconnect the battery and leave alone before you disconnect the seat and then connect all back up BEFORE reconnecting the battery, the airbag light shouldn't come on. Someone else should confirm whether or not I'm talking rubbish again though.  :y

Blown fuse?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Mobile phone charger fuse
« on: 11 November 2007, 00:29:48 »
Surely, when testing the amount of current a circuit is drawing, the fuse would need to be removed as the meter needs to be connected in series. If the fuse was left in and the meter applied, this would be wired in parallel and the test wouldn't work.

I am only going by what I have read but this makes sense to me. The meter featured above would perform just that function by breaking the circuit and thus being fitted in series in the circuit?

I agree Entwood. I've 'borrowed' one from work and have used it quite often. I really could do with some lessons to get the best out of it, but it is amazing how often you can find a use for it.  :y

If you were REALLY bored you could get hold of this from maplins ...

or browse the million+ links under

Enjoy .....  :)

Cheers. A bit of light reading for the weekend. :y

amba ... a small, cheap multi-meter is invaluable for checking polarity and/or circuit continuity, as well as many other things .. they are now so cheap no-one should be without one ...

eg ..

http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=37279&doy=8m11

less than £6 !!!

I've seen these from various sources. Are they any good? If so, what's the difference between one of these and one costing anything from 5 to 50 times the cost?

Yes, it does and your calculation is spot on.
