I know this is not an Omega but the guy in the AA who towed me back to the South said the Low Loader Had 700,000 miles on it and get this it was only 4 years old OUCH talk about clocking up the mileage.

My Megga is a pup at 78,000

My 2.0 has just passed the 140k mark and although has an oil leak (to be solved) is still running well.

2.6, bought at 6.5k miles five years ago, now has 50k. Engine is going very strong - only problems so far were typical V6 issues i.e. oil-cooler (replaced by Vx FOC under warranty) and leaking Oil Pressure Switch (cost £5, replaced DIY).

Previous meega 2.5 bought at 20k, ran for 3 years and sold at 60k. Had the breathers cleaned by vx (£45), and then the cambelt tensioner failed at 60k (£325 at Vx, but Vauxhall Motors refunded 70% of the cost).

So I had a combined run of nearly 90k miles on two Omegas, the costs for engine-related fault repair so far amounted to £150 - not bad, I recon....

The engines are very robust if serviced correctly (esp cambelts/tensioners).  Like any high mileage car, very regular oil changes will only help further...
