Very pleased with MPG
« on: 05 December 2010, 13:52:26 »

;D Hi all , only had my 2.6 since Wednesday & i must admit i was doubtful about fuel consumption figures i had been quoted, but after 170 miles it took 27 litres to fill it so that is just over 28mpg & at one stage the computer was indicating 32mpg wish i had bought one of these years ago very impressed so far.

They can be good on fuel, but urban driving and lead feet mean they can also be appalling ::)

That is quite good, was it all motorway driving? What sort of speed were you doing? Manual or auto gears?

Welcome to the Forum, and the world of Omegas, by the way!

Hello, and welcome along  :y
I've got a 2.6 auto, and have to agree, that considering the size and weight of the car, the fuel consumption is pretty good. I generally average around 28mpg on my trip to work, which is a mixture of roads, but have seen 32+ on motorway trips. As TheBoy says, it's urban traffic that spoils it - stop/start crawling sees the reading drop right off. The consumption I get is comparable to 2 litre cars I have owned in the past  :y
