And so another year MOT pass with no advisories. I don't think I have had a fail on this car since I had it.
I was invited to see underneath, and the tester said, its in top nick.
Well pleased :)
Have to say though, it only did 500 miles in the last year !!!!

That light has not appeared again, TB. Its obviously something intermittent, that pops up now and again, then disappears as quickly as it came. Car drove perfectly down to Wycombe and back.
Tester opened the bonnet and said..'Flippin 'eck, I better put my white gloves on to go under there'.. lol. I was quite surprised at the underneath, just very small area's of surface rust/paint just starting to appear. Chappie said..'Just give them a bit of a clean up, and a coating of ???? and it will last for years'. :)

In answer to you Ron....I have to be honest, it is my grandson who cleans it more than me. He is always round here valeting it inside, or washing and polishing the outside. And he does a grand job !! :)

treat with a phosphoric acid rust converter (hammerite kurust is common )
once dry , paint with stone chip or zinc paint or something to seal it .
supertrol is good to squirt into sills, chassis legs ,door skins etc
you could have it treated by a specialist to coat everything with a wax/oil protection coating ,but it is not cheap

I suspect it wont for ages. If it does, just get it somewhere safe to stop, stop the engine and remove key for 30s, then start back up. And then get it here, and we can see what codes have come back.
