I would be more worried about the exterior colour, but at least '70s tan will wear better than the current dross...

MoT exempt too, which will save on maintenance costs  :D

Not overly keen on left hand drive, but the biggest concern with those old Mercs is rust. They are often riddled with it.
May have a free 1.2 Punto available soon, which might do for a commute car, although I imagine low 40,s mpg ? rather than nearly 60 from Pierre.
Would do the job for a while at least though. Then maybe have one more summer of fun with the Boxster, fix a few issues on it and then get rid of all three cars and have just one tedious little reliable Toyota.
I was so appalled by the interior colour that i totally missed that it was a left hooker.  ;D

Ha ha I missed that as well!  ;D

That's why the MoT exempt part is so great. Also coming from the Middle East, rust shouldn't be a real concern :y

LHD isn't an issue in something that old/slow either :D

With around 50bhp/tonne, overtaking isn't an option, which actually makes driving more interesting, so without overtaking, LHD is largely irrelevant  ;)

That's slightly unfair, they drive/ride as well as the Granada. The only difference is steering box rather than a rack, but that's six of one etc ;)

I was happy driving my old Merc 190D. Wish I still had it. Hindsight knows everything though.  ::)

As for the milk float. I wonder if I could connect it to the chargers at work ?
Im getting a bit old for projects though.  ;D

So the chip manufacturers changed production to more profitable chips like iphone, laptops, tablets when manufacturers cut back on car production due to Covid slow down.

Then when they wanted to ramp up production again, the chip manufacturers have little capacity for  low value chips?

So why hasnt the US and Europe learnt from this and “ clubbed together” to have a North American facility and one in Europe? Cost would be about 10 billion each plant ( fag packet calculation) Chip levy of say £100 on each car sold for two years. Cars are going to have more and more chips going forward.

A friend ordered a new tow car ( Land Rover) in June. Still no idea when it will be delivered however
The dealer has good news. Your 2022 spec car has been changed to a 2023 spec car. No all round cameras ( no doubt to save on chips)  instead other extras thrown in. Another friend has just last week received his new car ordered Feb last year.
