Right, over a tank, with the std chip in, the fuel computer is dead accurate, and it returned a piss poor 29mpg, and managed approx 450 miles.  I have been Miss Daisy though.

That MPG is similar to what I get with the chip in (around 30mpg, 450 to a tank) with my lead boot, though fuel computer reads around 40mpg.

I used to get high 30s out of it (pre chipped).

I'm confused, as normal....

BTW...... does it still chuck out loads of smoke now that you've swopped the chip back over. Mine's better since I give up using Sainsburys city diesel.

Come to think of it, I've noticed the same smoke reduction too.
For the past few weeks, the 'tractor' has been running on Shell diesel from a local garage. Deffo less emissions!

OK, couldn't bear it any longer, the chip went back in today.

Using the car unchipped for last few weeks, the fuel computer was bang on accuracy wise, and was returning around 29mpg :o

Done one trip since refitting chip today, with following results on the computer (which I think is 'dangle berries', and I think I now know why)

I can't see how people can drive a tractor in standard form. Its horrible.

I suspect, chipped, it will return similar economy (30mpg) even though its driven much more enthusiastically...

Then why was the consumption so bad you took the chip out ???

Just intrigued really ...  :)

My old preferred route to commute to work actually dropped below 30mph average - hence I changed to a longer, but usually quicker route

I think mine also tells me a load of b@ll@x as well (chipped) and similar MPG figures, so please tell why!
