This may be a tad simplistic, but
France has roughly the same population as the UK, but has way more than double the geographic area (not far off triple actually)
So . . . . . why?
If the UK were to provide exactly the same as France to migrants, surely problem solved. So why do we not?
There is much not being revealed or explained
Much that "they" are not telling us

The whole Huw Edwards thing has turned into something else.

It's not just some bloke being pervy. The Sun is a bit "right wing" so all the Lefties are taking a pop at it. It's a rag, but if it had been the Guardian I doubt that much would be said.

Yes, Huw Edwards is (was) a nice friendly TV face, but he is Left leaning and his wife is a TV producer for Robert Peston who is very anti-Tory.

Add to this the "mental issues" element and working for BBC, the lib-left are giving him an easy time. Just imagine all the same things done by a Tory MP, big business boss, or Hollywood Star. The knives would be out.

Oh, what about Nick Brown?

I'm plagued with 'Energy Advisors' at the mo and recently the bastards have got hold of my mobile number as well.  >:(

I don't usually engage. But just for fun, I'll sometimes insist upon them telling me exactly who they are an "energy advisor" for.

I was phoned earlier by 'Chris from O2' who was informing me that O2 were reducing by mobile phone bill (my phone is actually by O2) by 40% .... I didn't need to disclose any personal info ... all I needed to do was to tell him what the code was that he was about to text me. He did send me a text that was headed O2 UK and a 6 digit number. It included all the relevant phrases that a real message would have included.
I said that I'd no way of verifying that he was infact Chris from O2 and it smelt a bit fishy ..... but he carried on with his spiel ... even phoned me back after 'we got cut off' and suggested that I could Google the number he rang on to prove he was from O2.
I fvcked him off & did google the 0208 number ....  various messages about it  being a scam.

So ..... he did send me a ''code number.'' I'm curious as to how this code would have enabled him to scam me  :-\ :-\ :-\

I had an almost identical call. He even knew my name, but it stank. the conversation went no further
As the saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true . . .
Just why would a current supplier volunteer to reduce their price by 40%?

« on: 08 July 2023, 00:54:32 »
Basically, you mount the controller somewhere convenient, give it a switched 12v and fit the cd changer where you want. Run the control cable from the control to the changer and the audio cable from the changer to the cars factory 3.5mm aux input and call it done :y

That's fine, for anyone who has any idea of what you're talking about

I play everything from a USB stick now. Rip CDs on my home pc and copy onto the stick. I've found that sticks over 32Gb just don't work, and must be formatted to Fat32 (brand new ones usually are). Also anything bigger than 32Gb can hold too many albums to scroll through safely while driving. Even 8GB holds more than most CD changers.

But, even USB sockets are becoming unusual as it is often assumed that the car is "connected" and has crapple or whatever.

France can burn to the ground as far as I am concerned, never been never want to go ,they treat the UK as a dumping ground for their shit & we pay them for it.

If I was French then I'd want to get rid of the boat people as well, then they become our problem not theirs. And, if we are stupid enough to pay them for doing nothing about it . . . . .   :(
Maybe our cash is actually paying for the boats ! Who knows ?
The big problem of course is the EU, Schenken, and freedom of movement. It's complicated.

If the boot was on the other foot and there were hordes of people from far away lands heading for France from our shores in rubber dinghies, I can't imagine for one moment that the French would be sending their people out into the Channel to pick them up, wrap them in blankets and take them back to France. Can you?  ???  ::)

Apparently they have a sizable Police contingent on the border with Italy where they turn migrants back.  You won't hear that on the BBC tho. :-X

One of the problems with the British is that we always play by the rules. If the rules (IE: ECHR) say we must provide for aslyum seekers, even those with beards who claim to be children, then that's what our pen pushers do, with every T crossed and every i dotted.

Other countries (IE: France) openly say "yes, we'll do that", and then do what the hell they like.

Our jobsworth pen pushers and politicians won't play dirty.

Don't know what all the fuss is about. You've had shits that are much fatter than the average finger, it's maybe just that they don't wiggle around  ;D
Mine is an exhaust, not an intake....

Yep. All men should have an 'exit only' arsehole. :)

Doctor doctor, my arse hurts

Oh, where exactly?

Just around the entrance

Oh dear, that's what happens when you think of it as an "entrance" rather than exit

(Yes I know there's a dedicated "Joke" section, but . . . )

I thought the lubed finger was given to all men over 50 as standard NHS procedure.
Can’t say I’ve ever had a man’s finger up mine…

Something to look forward to  :o. It will happen at some stage  :-\

My lad, after putting the shits up me by travelling to the US on his own, is going one better in August. Twelve days in Morocco.

I have to say, I really like Morocco. Admittedly in a nice hotel. But even walking around, I've never felt unsafe. Women need to take care with how they dress. It's possibly the most "open" and liberal of the Arab countries. Don't forget how the hippies, artists, and rock stars flocked there in the 60's.

So, the day after a major event intended to improve US-China relations with lots of smiles, handshakes, and photos. Biden blurts out “That’s a great embarrassment for dictators". (referring to the shooting down of alleged spy balloons). True or not, the man's an idiot.
