Hi all,
Below are a few pics of my mini face lift 2.5 V6 CDX Omega.
I noticed a bit of bubbling under the bottom lip of both rear wheel arches, and bottom of rear passenger door had a corner of paint come away and was exposing a rusty bit :'(
I wanted to catch the rot early so I bit the bullet and took her in for the full treatment where they did both rear wheel arches, sills off and did them, bottom of all doors and wax oiled wheel arches.
She was not quite to my "standard" :D so I have now treated her to a fresh wax and polish. Also did the headlights whilst I was there :y
I have had her from new and currently just about to clock 59k mls on the clock !!
Not bad for 14 year old mota !
Enjoy the pics. :)
Dr. Andy

Auto Glym Super Resin Polish http://www.halfords.com/motoring/cleaning-products/polish-wax/autoglym-super-resin-polish-500ml (http://www.halfords.com/motoring/cleaning-products/polish-wax/autoglym-super-resin-polish-500ml)
I have tried many polishes, and this stuff is the best I have used to date. Not that critical if get a bit on trim or rubber as wipes off easily and some trim or tyre dressing soon restores back :y
As can see, you can cover the whole car first and leave a for a bit, then wipe off. An old (Clean !!) bath towel is best, then polishing cloth to finish.
Good luck.

How are you finding the Rainsport 3's?
I have not had them too long but the Rainsport 3's are pretty good so far. Not really tested fully in the wet (try not to take the girl out in the wet as just cleaned her :D)
I recently had new front wishbones (fitted c/o fellow OOF'er Daz :y) and full Geo Set up at recommended place (Nigel Langs in Bolton :y) and car handles fantastic now (better from when I had her new !!!!)
I have tried Goodyear F1 GSD3's last time which were OK, and Michelin Pilot's (which she came from factory with).
The Rainsports certainly grip the road (wet or dry), digs well in from "Launch Control" off the lights ;) and I am now confident to plant right foot on loud pedal round the twisty bits and she corners like on rails.
For their price (and from my experience on the tyres I have used on the car) they have behaved just as good or better (but that maybe the benefit of a correct Geo Setup !!!) compared to the more expensive brands I have used.
Hope that helps.
Andy.

Sadly not Doc, but I do have the rear shelf with electric blind (Bose speaker grilles). It is cream though, and it looks as though you have the dark interior on yours.

LOOKS IN GREAT ORDER THAT :y WELL DONE

Yep black cloth interior :'( (but very comfy :y) else I would have made an offer for the rear blind :D (I have the OEM switch already fitted to dash :D)
A Cream one with dark interior would look a little odd :( and trying to keep her as original-ish as I can.
Anybody with a black one then I maybe interested ;) Assume not difficult to fit ?

Stunning - surely 1 owner from new in that condition is rare, if not unique? :)
Keep up the good work!

I have owned her from 6 months old so pretty much all the cars life :)
She was formally a Vauxhall Management Car and only had a few k-mls on clock (6k I think ?) so was pretty much a new mota.
Bought her 6 months old, and paid 40% of list price with Vauxhall paying the 60% depreciation !!! (Thank you GM :y)
Everyone a winner.
MOT next week :( Fingers crossed :D

If you fancy a drive there's an Elite velour interior (in pale grey, though), with all the electric seats and heated rears at a scrapyard near me :y
Personally with that car being such a beautiful example of an original mode might be worth just keeping it in its factory spec... but only fair I let you / other OOFers know that they're there :)

Thanks for the tip off Re Elite bits. I guess I should keep her true to the Original Model & Spec as I can really :y which is not too shabby ;)
Cheers,
Andy.

If you'd tweaked her over the years, a worthy mod... but I agree with you completely in this case - keep original. Lovely machine. Long may she reign! :y
-
MOT passed with NO advisories :D
Happy days.
"She is a vey clean mota sir and wheel arches all wax oiled" was the comment.
Getting handbrake and gearstick gaitors done now as they are tatty and there is a custom trim place opposite who can do is soft black leather :y
:)
-
nice car that :y
-
You can buy the handbrake gaiter etc on the bay of gay....for a few pounds, just done mine. Think the sellers are called Topgaiters iirc ;)

I got them re-done at custom trim place next to where I work in the end (they have some real fancy motas there so thought they should be decent!!) . That way the plastic fittings/clips are original GM with then genuine top quality leather and look factory fit and blend perfectly to the pattern on the black console :y. And the smell of leather in the car is a bonus !!
I shall try to take a PIC and post :y
-
Nice look... :D
I will try Autoglym in a shortest time... :)

First praise for the absolutely amazing Omega! I have a request, where you can find covers for lights? Alternatively trade that would sent to the Czech Republic. Thank you very much! :y
-
:y Thanks for the comments :y
I got my headlight covers from the dealers, but it was a few years ago and not sure if they still do them to be honest.
Word of caution, close the bonnet gently as I broke the first pair and the dealer broke the second so they head to replace them FOC !!!
-
Thank you for the warning. I'll try to look at ads that happen to not get it. Really once again congratulations to Omega so super! I love this color (it himself got his) Z359 Jungle Grün ;D 8)
