Post by: tmx on 13 October 2008, 10:31:59
Genuine Collins engineering powerchip for an X30XE Omega Elite / MV6 cost me a small fortune but my insurance is to expensive with it so its going to have to go

am after £50 posted for it its boxed and ready to go

gives a 15lb/ft increase in tourqe and 10 -15 bhp gain

some insurance company's are alot better than others, sometimes it's best to find a compramise between prices comparing before and after you'd have done something like chipping it.

my insurance was 2700 in the 2.0 of mine but with the 2.5 in and now im just turning 20 it's 1400ish!

  Hi,
What's involved in fitting one of these Chips(does anything need altering)and what difference would it make to fuel economy under normal driving(not booting it) :question

      I drive a 96 3.0L saloon auto Elite.

                Thanks,
                           Pete.

Piece of piss to change.

Pull out the ECU (by the battery)
Crack it open (8mm socket and a flatblade required)
Lever chip out off then reverse the procedure.

Can be done in 5 minutes.

Fuel economy is often good........the explination.....i've just had a second chip RR'd.....LEAN :-X
