General Discussion Area / Any tips for removing paint from a beech fire surround

As above really, it is currently removed to allow for wall papering of the chimney breast, the wall was breast was previously painted with the mantle/surround in place and it has tiny bits of paint on it; not me.... 
As it is off I thought I would try and remove the paint before refitting; discuss............

We saw a White Omega in Sainsbury's car park in Sedgefield today, which she took a liking to, when I pointed out that they are mostly Manual Miss Vamps helpfully pointed out that we could paint the one we have White - swmbo thought that would be a good Idea..........

In the car park at work, woman in a Saab, not sure if she skidded on the ice or just did not see me stop to allow a car out, auto so brake lights on and indicator also on.......
Not a great deal of damage to the Jeep, been quoted £200 plus VAT + the cost of a new rear reflector, it's the messing about that is a pain........
