Hi all

Just cleaned throttle body and breather pipes put everything back together and now have no throttle response. >:( Car started and idle was moving between 800- 1200 rpm for a couple of mins then settled at 800 rpm and engine electronic light came on. whilst removing the DBW connection I lost the grey section in the engine bay somewhere and can't find it. I removed the disc from the throttle body to clean as it had thick crusted on gunk and when I reassembled I checked it was moving freely. Also the metal sump breather pipe was totally blocked so could it be the ecu getting used to the engine breathing again. car is 2.2 sport saloon 02 reg. anybody get any clues please.

Omega General Help / Front wheels stuck fast
« on: 12 February 2017, 22:45:11 »
Hi peps
Swapped wheels around today as fronts wearing slightly faster than rears. When removing front wheels both had seized onto brake hubs, tried all sorts of things to remove them ie hitting with rubber mallet, lump of wood, wd40, placing wood under outer edge of wheel and lowering jack, of which none worked. only way to get them off was to loosen lugs and drive back and forward braking hard. first wheel took nearly an hour to get off >:(. found a bit of corrosion on hub face and wheel which I cleaned off with wire brush. when refitting wheels I put some copper grease on hub face to hopefully stop this in the future. was this a good idea and has anyone else had this problem if so how did you get around it.
Cheers Butts.

Omega General Help / Lumpy on idel
« on: 04 February 2017, 23:52:52 »
Hi Guys
just taken me ages to work out how to post on here, then realised I was logged out doh!  ;D

Had an omega 2.2 sport auto 150000 for about a year now. when I first got it engine electrics light came on but did not affect performance. cleaned out throttle body pipes but did not remove throttle body or breather sump pipe due to not having a torque wrench, plan to soon now I have parts numbers from here. great guides thanks. this has cured light coming on.

Couple of months ago after engine had warmed up engine started running really rough as though it was running on 3 cylinders. Changed spark plugs but found water in port nearest scuttle. seams to have fixed problem but reading through post on here it may be scuttle leaking, thoughts please.

Last few days engine has been running rough intermittently and a fair bit of white smoke from exhaust, have only been doing short journeys of around 1-2 miles and it has been cold, could it be rocker cover gasket going ? I plan to do a service next week, oil, oil filter, air filter and coolant change also considering changing throttle body and breather sump gaskets, also rocker cover gaskets and cleaning it all.

Am I heading in the right direction. what oil do you recommend and where's best place to get parts.

Thanks for taking the time to read all this and thanks in advance for any advice.

Cheers Butts.
