Post by: Toledodude1973 on 16 April 2017, 16:30:40
Hello i should have posted here first before going on wanted section.
The wipers dont park correctly and intermittent wipe doesnt always work. So i want to change relays first before going down motor route, can someone please tell me which relays are required? Its a 2002 2.6 saloon thankyou Paul

Check the condition of the balljoints, and then the park switch inside the motor before changing the relays.

You did compare the title of the post and the title of the guide... ???

The relays are, at this point, largely irrelevant.

Pending a reply regarding following the guide, then if it's ok with you, I will possibly post a link to the relays... not that it's a secret, but people should be allowed to look for what they seek.

I'd  agree with you other than the fact intermittent doesn't work ..... sounds electrical to me

My money is not on the relays...

If it was just that they'd slipped on the motor's taper, the intermittent would still work ...... but park in the wrong place. I never said the relays were fubar'd ....... just that your link didn't  answer the question

I had a similar issue and seeing as my car (also a 2.6 model) didn't have the variable intermittent wipe I replaced the tall yellow wiper relay with a vw type 99 unit

mine parked ok but mine doesnt have a variable delay just a set amount.the vw 99 relay is a known mod snd is a learning module. you flick up and back to intermittent.then after desired interval you switch intermittent on properly.the relay remembers the time delay and carries  on from there.
