I've been contemplating for too long what to do with the footage from one of the quadcopter for 2 or 3 weeks, whether to store somewhere or just delete the raw footage and rely on Youtube for its history.

Pondered too long, and ran out of space on a flight at lunchtime.  It doesn't seem that long ago that got my first 100+Gb hard disk, on which I thought I could store the whole world.  Now I've filled 128Gb SD in less than 4 weeks :o

So ordered another whilst I think about what to do with the raw footage ;D. Whats the betting I'm back here in a week or 2 saying the same thing ;D

Thats generally an expensive way to get a poorly performing mediocre capacity storage system.

But I'd soon eat through the 5-10Tb space such a system would offer :(

Its mental how much storage you need now...  ...and video files are getting unmanageably big.  I've probably uploaded 50+Gb to that gay YouTube thing today.

I have a tidy collection of HPE Proliants, but my poor electric meter is getting knackered.

I discovered the A/C had packed up in the server room at work recently. It was like walking into a sauna. I was told there was no need to panic until it got well past 50 degrees, so went back to my chair, logged onto OOF and forgot about it.

Do they still use halon gas in those places if there's a fire?
