lol dont care about looking gay. as long as in future that dont happen again ;)

as for the job itself, really was a piece of piss.... only trouble was getting the 'Y' pipe back on the breather box. them bloody clips. i hate them. so i simply swapped it for a jubilee clip.... all sorted.

cable ties round all breathers to breather bridge. cable tie to keep icv in.

job done.

should this be done with every oil change i.e. 3000 miles?

It won't do it any harm  ;)

you aint even meant to get that stuff on your skin let alone in your eyes lol

as for them clips. they're useless. once you have then gripped and opened with long nose pliers when you pull them up they tend to just dig into any bit of hose. swapped for a jubilee. simples..... just tighten up lol

Not any clips on mine at all and they seem ok , there is iirc a special tool for releasing them clips .

Cable ties are your friends when it comes to relatively small bore breather pipes that are only under vacuum - s'what's holding mine on, on both cars :)

Stings like a sonofabitch but given you washed it out immediately I doubt there's any harm done long term ;)

(Top tip: Petrol also burns like you wouldn't believe in your eyes! And while we're on safety tips: Brake cleaner is not a substitute for swarfega, no matter how many times I might have used it to clean my hands  :-[ Oh and some cleaners decompose to toxic phosgene gas when heated - thread on that here recently - fatal in microscopic doses..)

And the same is generated if you smoke close to an air outlet from a swimming baths....

Or weld Galv plate......cough cough.
i used to hate welding galv, not only the stink but the taste lingered for ages
