Woohoo.......love it or hate it, brand new series of Top Gear starting this Sunday. Saw the trailers for it last night and it promises to be as good as ever if they're anything to go by. :y

Not sure they should have done with the current  situation out there. :-/

Quite a few people within F1 were also against it including one or two drivers. Apart from that, it's usually a pretty boring GP anyway!

Yet another cracking race. :y New rules, particularly the new tyres, has made a big difference this year. Great to see Lewis pushing Vettel for the last 10 laps and finishing only 0.6 seconds behind. I think a couple of years ago Lewis might have made a rash move to get by and taken them both out but he seems more mature now in taking 2nd rather than no points at all. Some good overtaking all the way through the field (yes Jaime.......OVERTAKING! ::) :P)
It'll be interesting to see if they allow use of DRS at Monaco.

Just watching Barcelona v Real Madrid Champions League game and it's degenerated into a farce - players sent off, Mourinho sent off, most players acting that would deserve an Oscar award and we moan about English footy!! ::) ;D

General Discussion Area / Google Chrome
« on: 29 March 2011, 12:35:54 »
Anyone on here use it? I've just started using it and thought it was pretty good and very quick, but there appears to be a few bugs in it. First, it was continually telling me that Shockwave Flash had crashed which I finally sorted out by uninstalling and reinstalling it, now every time I go to Google Mail I'm getting messages telling me Google Gears 0.5.33.0 has crashed. Looking on the Google Help website these seem to quite common along with quite a few other problems. :-?
Think I'm going back to IE8!!

General Discussion Area / Pirate radio
« on: 18 March 2011, 10:47:30 »
Watched the film "The Boat That Rocked" last night (very good incidentally) and it reminded me of just how great and influential the likes of Radio Caroline, Radio London etc. were in the 60's. They gave a lot of artists breaks that they wouldn't have got on the BBC's Light Programme at the time. They also spawned some great DJ personalities such as Kenny Everett, Johnny Walker, DLT etc. Kind of makes you wonder where music would be today without the pirates of those great days and we only had the Beeb. :-/

General Discussion Area / Insurance question
« on: 16 March 2011, 10:10:52 »
My mate's wife pranged their van recently and while the damage isn't that bad, their insurer has told them it's a write-off. They are reluctant to part with this van because it took them a long time to find one that suited all their criteria. Someone they know has told them they could repair it for around £400, so could they turn down the insurer and have the repair done privately?

General Discussion Area / OOF's gone link crazy
« on: 24 February 2011, 09:44:54 »
Seems like every thread I open has a link to another site. So what does that mean, has OOF become too boring on it's own?  :-/ ::)

General Discussion Area / Fuel taxation
« on: 12 January 2011, 09:54:30 »
How is it that the government can get away with taxing tax? Well that's exactly what they do with fuel - about 70% of the cost of fuel at the pump is duty and yet the duty is also subject to VAT. In short they are adding tax to tax. >:( It's no different to being mugged!! >:( >:(
