Need a replacement load cover as mine's finally fallen apart. Ideally in Herts/Beds/Bucks/Essex/Kent area as probably expensive to send by post or courier.

Getting Low Beam Fld/Vision message in MID and upon investigation, the nearside front wishbone sensor is broken so need a replacement for 2002 3.2 MV6 estate if anyone has one for sale.

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Outside temp sensor wanted
« on: 26 January 2010, 09:24:10 »
Not sure if the sensors I've got are faulty or there's a bad connection in the connector that plugs into it. Tried fitting a spare sensor I had but still no function.
Has anyone got a spare sensor with connector they could sell me?
Cheers, Bob

Anyone got a cigar lighter for the front ashtray of a facelift estate? I've tried one's from older models but they are different size.

Some pics from our day at Snetterton yesterday. Plenty of good racing all day with 2 Team Palmer Audi single seater races, 2 Britcar S1 races and the feature race Britcar 4 hour endurance featuring the V8 Star Omega. Alex Watson kindly invited us to the garage of the V8 Star Omega run by Irmscher Sport/Wessex Vehicles so here's some pics from the pit garages.

Here's some pics from various parts of the circuit.

The Dodge Viper

The Omega had a poor grid position after gearbox problems during Saturday qualifying and started 13th. At the end of the 1st lap it was in 5th!! After a great battle with one of the Mosler's he got up to 2nd but unfortunately suffered a gearbox linkage failure after about an hour and a half and had to retire. :'(

This is the stunning V8 Star Omega owned by Alex Watson that was racing in the Britcar series at Brands Hatch on Sunday at the A1 GP.
Alex was kind enough to e-mail me a few pics of this incredible machine. Powered by a Corvette LS7 V8 punching out 645BHP!!

General Car Chat / Just met my Omega's original owner on here!!
« on: 26 July 2011, 11:26:54 »
Had a PM sitting in my inbox this morning from paul.lovejoy who recently joined the forum and turns out he's the original owner of my MV6 when he first aqquired it as an ex-demo car from Vauxhalls. :o I always wondered about it's original origins and it was really nice to find out and have a chat.
Welcome to the forum Paul and good chatting to you. :y

General Car Chat / Window tint removal......aaaahhhhhggg!!!!
« on: 21 March 2011, 15:38:57 »
Finally got round to having a go at removing my front window tints after being pulled up and warned by plod. Using a heat gun and a sharp window scraper blade, I managed to get the film off relatively easily, however, the glue left behind on the window is a rather nightmare!! >:( Been trying using the window scaper blade, white spirit and meths and it's a real sod to remove. Think its going to be several weekends before they're completely clean. :'(

General Car Chat / Stopped by the rozzers for window tints
« on: 04 March 2011, 09:25:59 »
I got stopped at a police check point at stansted Airport on my way to work yesterday morning and was told the reason I had been pulled in was because my front window tints were illegally dark. I had an idea they were as Broocie (Hotel21) had told me in his capacity as an ex policeman at one of our previous OOF meets. Having bought the car with  the tints alreadyon and having owned the for nearly 4 years without being stopped, I hadn't given it much more thought. They said I could be fined £60 per window and get 3 points on my licence per window. :o However, they said if I removed the front tints there and then I would just get a £30 fine. :-?
Anyway, was impossible to peel off at the roadside and they could see I was struggling, so after a car inspection they said because I had not been "arsy" (their words) with them and co-operative, they let me off with a warning but said to remove the tints at my earliest opportunity.
I could have agued that I can see out of them perfectly well and they haven't caused me any problems in the 4 years of ownership, but then the law is the law and I probably wouldn't have been let off. ::)
My problem now is how the hell do I remove the bloody tints without scratching the windows? :-/
Anyone done this before?

PS......OK Broocie, you were right so no gloating please!! ::)
