Nevereardofim.  :-\

He lives in a posh house in the Cotswolds and was the owner and editor of EVO magazine.

I remember seeing pictures of his house and car collection when I used to read EVO before it became all about expensive high end sports cars.

Still enjoying the Datsun, Mr Gav?

I am  :y

But it`s hardly a high end sports car  ;) I was thinking more along the lines of Porches, Lamborghinis and the like  :y

I omce rode a half-a-Vincent (Comet 500cc) and that was poo-inducing enough for me at the time. No way would I tackle a whole Vincent (1000cc Vee twin) without an armful of M&S vouchers! POOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Ron.

The worst thing I rode was a CB750 that a mate had, during a period in between bikes, my mates were going out for a ride one Sunday and he said I could come along on his CB750 as he was on his Z900.
It felt like it had Plasticine for a chassis, horrible, ill handling piece of shit it was.

I had ‘a moment’ this morning. Driving along an A road at about 40, the sun was actually shining and I could see see clear road for about half a mile in front of me. ‘F**k it’ I thought and buried the throttle. I was amazed at how quick the little astra picked up, 90mph in no time at all, slowed down well too. I had a big grin on my face cause I don’t get to do it with the dog in the back which is, like, all of the time.
My astra has only got 165bhp, but quite a few torques. I got to thinking how it would be in a big jag or the like. As well as being exhilarating, it must make a little bit of poo appear in your undies.  ;D

Your "in no time at all" must be slightly different to mine then  ;D

He says you should buy a manual because an auto would blunt the performance. Good luck with that.

I once owned a manual Omega. :( :(

Rumour has it the gearbox comes from a Mack truck. :-\

The gearbox in my old MV6 was actually quite good  :y

It's a pulse charger, which means that it's inadvisable to use it with the battery still connected to the car, for fear of damage to the ECU.

Ron.
Personally I never charge Car Batteries in-situ and still connected, the Battery either comes out or worse case it takes about 15 seconds with a 10mm spanner to diss the Neg and put a bit of cardboard between the Neg and terminal just in case.  ;)

You've never disconnected or removed the battery from a R Class Merc  ;)

If you can't charge a battery in situ why does Ctek provide a lead to do so?  ::) My Roadster & TEM are left permanently connected to a Ctek when not in use (unfortunately for my bike that's been far too long)

And we`ll not even mention the Bond Bug  ;D

Hi all looking at the possibility of buying an Insignia Elite nav either the 163 hp turbo or the 193 hp bi turbo Elite nav quite fancy the bi turbo  but have been told by a car tuner the the parts for the engine ie injectors are a lot more expensive to replace The reason I am looking at Insignias is the same reason that I was attracted to  my Omega elite second hand "you get a lot of bang for your bucks" plus well impressed with the build of the Omega Any input will be greatly appreciated
Regards
Tony

All I say is that in all my years of driving injector fed cars many 100's of thousands of miles, I never had any problems with the injectors, nor have I ever had the need to replace them.  Any Insignia is not going to be as old and used as our Omega's, so personally I take my chances as it should be a safe bet. ;)

Injector issues are with diesel cars and the difficulty of removing them, petrol injectors are far easier to remove and rarely give trouble.

I have only ever had injectors cleaned once and that was on my Senator which had covered 248k by the time I bought it.

Yes mum used to use cornflower and Bisto powder for the gravy done in the meat dish after [iirc] she'd poured off the dripping[or as dad would have it the sweat off the meat]Dripping sandwiches or dripping on toast mmmmm, yummy :y
One type of sandwich I used to love-and still have from time to time-[some friends used to think it was "dirty"]were cheese and jam. They had to be made with white cheese[not red] and strawberry jam :-*

I love cheese and jam sandwiches, I always get a funny look if I`m having them at work, people just don`t understand how nice they are  :y
