My first car, a 1980 Renault 5 GTL produced about 500bhp and went like stink!  8)                                                ;D
.

My missus had a Renault 11 Turbo about 30 odd years ago , she collected points like they were going out of fashion, so bought her a Subaru Forester to replace it & she's had one ever since.

According to a previous  member of crew being interviewed the vessel had encountered several mechanical problems in the past, probably well past its serviceable life & poor maintenance wouldn't suprise me in the slightest, hope whoever owns it has decent insurance for all involved , I can see this incident opening up a whole can of worms.

Had the Subaru Forester 7 years on the 1st of April, again the car came with all service bills receipts from the one & only owner (deceased neighbour) again I have every receipt / bill since I've owned it total costs to date £1426.79 that includes two timing belts & water pumps tyres etc etc. Pretty good value & it never misses a beat ..👍

I read earlier that there were two pilots on board. Seems to have been some kind of equipment failure, it will all come out in the wash.

Night out on the piss before sail away.

Bought the RRS in September 2019 have kept every bill/receipt since I've owned it total spent to date is £5576.25 that includes absolutely everything tyres , battery , wipers + various fluids etc .
I have two folders full of bills/receipts that came with it when I purchased it I'll add that lot up when I get a few minutes to spare.
The advice on the RRS forum is to allow £1200-£1500 per year to cover service/repairs if you use a reputable independent so I'm happy with my costs.

Just went out swapped no1 and no3 injectors to see if the code followed the injector.
Started it up and it runs perfectly. Drove it for a couple of miles and its running just as it should.
No EML and no codes.
Can only assume the manky petrol has worked its way through, or now been well enough mixed with the fresh stuff.  :-\
.

Great result 👍

My Grandson has just passed his test and bought himself a very nice Mazda 2 his insurance is £3500, he has a black box to monitor his driving without the box it would have been over £6000.

I'm expecting the Range Rover to be around £600 from LV in July working on their price increase, Go compare came up at £246 again all I want is to be legal the RR is a 2007 & probably only worth about £3000.

General Car Chat / Insurance renewal .
« on: 25 March 2024, 11:05:21 »
Last year it cost £233 to insure the Subaru, the renewal this year £351 been with LV for several years, so onto  Go Compare got it for £187 with Carole Nash, the car is  19 years old now so it would be written off for any damage sustained in an accident, all I want is to be legal. I told LV that I would not be renewing they asked if I would like a quote to see if they could reduce the premium, told them that they have just got too greedy now & that the vehicle will now be insured elsewhere.

This one looks to be pretty rot free, hasn't been used since last October due to illness I didn't even try to start it , I won't attempt to drive it home will arrange for a transporter , have it thoroughly checked over mechanically when it's home, the bonnet has a nasty scratch which will have to be sorted the interior is mint( tan leather)
