The only way to find out is to go , just try a 7 day one would be my advice you  will soon discover if you like it or not,as for trips entirely up to the individual, personally I don't like travelling around on mini buses/coaches there's plenty of experience on board the ship to offer advice & there's plenty of things on offer if you  just want to stay on board . Our first one this year was only £1200 for both of us including flights, terrific value for money.
I'm the same with coaches and mini buses - OK if it's just for 20 minutes or so, but tiresome if it's 2hrs each way.  And as I said, ports a grim places*, so generally nothing to look around within walking distance.
…………

Most cruise lines organise Shuttle Buses to the towns so you just walk off the ship, get on a bus and fifteen/twenty minutes later you get off at the drop off points. Some Ports you can walk to the town but for sightseeing such as ruins/volcanos etc you’re probably better off on an organised excursion from the ship. If you are on a ship organised excursion you know that the ship will not leave port without you if the tour coach is late returning, as it’s their tour so their responsibility.  Also, some people like to stay on board at Ports as there will be less people onboard around the pools etc.
What to do onboard is down to the individual preference, I mean, what do people normally do?. We started on RCCL (Royal Caribbean Cruise Line) and they have theatres, ice skating shows, pools, flo-rider surfing, rock climbing, jacuzzi’s, games rooms, gymnasiums, casinos and various clubs to entertain. P & O have most of that, apart from the ice skating, but is less glitzy.  We started cruising years ago and I honestly thought my Mrs would hate it (it was her choice not mine), as she doesn’t even like sitting on a beach for more than half an hour, but she loves it.
We always, always, always book a balcony room and if we couldn’t get one we wouldn’t book. As you say, it’s not for everyone, but I certainly wouldn’t class it as a floating hotel.
The Embarkation and Disembarkation (sail only) is so much easier when compared to flying as once you are on board your holiday has started.

.........
Few things:

1) Are you logged into your driver profile?
2) Have you disabled it? (press the lane assist circle button) - Disable steering intervention
3) Select individual mode

*also link your key to your profile

You can also set different profiles on each key fob so it'll remember the seat/mirror/radio station etc of whoever uses that fob.  :y

These also sound fantasic even unmodified, far better than any diesel. Quite a difference starting my current car to the old daddy bus in the morning!

It depends on what people need from them. As I’ve mentioned previously, a 0-60mph sprint will see the petrol derivative start to edge away very slightly from its diesel equivalent, but from approximately 50mph rolling up to 100mph the diesel will easily reel it back in. The diesel is 2 seconds quicker mid range than the petrol and let’s be honest, once things are moving over a ton things start to get silly, so that’s what I base my experience on. After that, we all know the petrol is quicker to the speed limiter, but at a big sacrifice in fuel compared to the diesel.
As for the spec, a lot of trim level is paired up. They tend to throw more toys at the 3.0’s anyway but memory seats come paired with memory/folding mirrors, Nav Pro comes paired with Harmon Kardon etc and I’m yet to see a 3.0 without front and rear parking sensors as standard. It’s generally the comfort access (wiggle foot under rear bumper to open the boot) that comes as extra, and Parking Pro, (parks itself) both of which I have and never use if I’m honest.
As for power, they are plenty quick enough from the factory, but a larger charge pipe as you said, a larger intercooler and a map to lose the electronic speed limiter will see you on the wrong side of 170mph. Hartge used to do this as a whole package and were a trusted company by bmw but they’ve ceased trading I believe. If anyone doubts the power of the straight six diesel, take a look at the bmw D3. It has monstrous torque and will see the wrong side of 170mph.
Glad you’re more than happy with your choice, they are a nice car to drive and the infotainmen systemt usability is still one of the best in my opinion.

Stop moaning you lot, there are some people who won't make it as far as 2024

A couple of our Christmas gifts from family are theatre tickets for shows in 2025.  I’m thinking that given my age and health issues the bookings could be a tad optimistic.  ;D
Positive head on, I’ll still be here and moaning about the shows. ;D

.
Got lots planned for 2024 starting with a Carribbean cruise in March so got to make it as its all paid for now. 😁

We got back from the Canary Islands two weeks before Christmas. It seemed weird being on a beach with temperatures of 29 degrees when it was so cold in the UK. We were caught in a Force 12 hurricane on the last two days of sailing, which was ………. interesting. ;D

Some ol' crap about 12th night, blah blah...

If the 12th night superstition is anything to go by, I’ll agree with you on this occasion. I’ve had enough shit luck the last couple of years so I’m happy for you not to tempt fate ….. leave them be.  ;D  :y
Yeah, I'll be equally glad to put 2023 behind me.  What a shitty year, although I'm thankful I've not even been near a hospital this year.  Probably just as well, as you've hogged the beds  :-X

;D  :y

Agreed.
They should be limited to start on Christmas Eve and be gone by Boxing Day morning.

Yep, Merry Christmas to all on OOF.  :y

Both of my children and their families will be here on Christmas Day so I may have to turn my hearing aids off due to noisy kids and cut the power to my electric recliners so the Grandchildren can’t use them as springboards. ;D
I love’em to bits really.

I know spottings are rare nowadays, but nobody steps up to claim the vehicle....so I assume by this that more Omega's are owned by non forum members, rather than us legit guys ???

I had my 3.2 for seventeen years and it always managed to slip under the OOF Spotters radar. Two weeks after I’d sold it, biggriffin spotted it and posted on here.
As I drive a German I can’t flash to acknowledge Omega’s, as the Omega driver would probably turn around and beat me up. ;D

Pretty sure we have all experienced a fishy fanny at one time or another. :-X

Not nice.

Having been in that situation myself, I always performed the dip test first after that experience. A casual hand down her drawers and then an innocent sniff of said hand decided how things progressed, and whether my head was staying up or going down. ;D

Petrol engines have come a long way in recent years. My wife’s Audi 2.0 TFSI (petrol) is good on fuel and averages mid 40’s with mixed driving but on motorway runs it can see as high as 60 mpg.  Although not a big engine, it is still sprightly enough to do 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds and run on to a top speed of 152mph.

I’ve got a cold and a headache so that’s pissed me off, and being male it could be life threatening.  ::)
