Gen part search has one, but it's 256 bucks and it may not be in stock. Search for 93176626

They don't generally stock anything.

Bit of improve, it'll fit behind the bumper.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203578729484?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=tsnLQFN3T1-&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=HQkiUKOCSAq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

If push really comes to shove then possibly. But I once read from MTDM that the reason the oil cooler is immersed in the engine coolant, is not only to help cool the oil, but also to help get the coolant up to temperature quicker.

I’d like to stay original, if at all possible.

I’ve just purchased a known good stainless cooler from an Omega enthusiast who can vouch that it’s had a good coolant mix all of its life, and came out in one piece. So that’s an option.

I’ve also found a product on eBay labelled “Opel Omega Engine Oil Cooler Radiator”  and both the X25XE and X30XE from 1994 to 1999 are listed as compatible. This would fit a later V6, and I wonder if it’s new-old-stock. The seller seems to only do  model specific oil coolers.

I thought for £40, I’ll take a punt and see what arrives! I can always keep the known-good used one as a spare!
They're essentially the same part. Designed to do the same job in the same location... With one caveat... They might be mild rather than stainless steel as they weren't generally stainless until post '97.

As part numbers get superceded as a result of supplier changes and component revisions, you may find those have a completely different part number.

I'd bet on it not being in stock, most of the stuff I now find isn't either, they don't update their stock system. Used to be quite a lot of parts there, probably me that bought half of it! Really just a side division of autovaux.

Only one I found was in Lithuania, thinking about having a tube welded between pipe fittings so it still fits in coolant

The seller cancelled my order with reason “buyer asked to cancel”. Which of course I didn’t ….

I’d be happy to have an older non stainless cooler if it were new. Because I’d maintain the coolant meaning it would be unlikely to fail! :y

Back to the drawing board ….

Just my tuppence worth, but making the engine run colder will kill the economy.

And all fiiting an external oil cooler will do is make it take longer to warm up.

I agree, it may delay warmup which is not ideal.

I also loathe the idea of paying almost £400 for an original cooler though

The days of cheap Omega parts died with Vauxhall.

Consumable service parts are still affordable, but used parts have gone through the roof, mainly because sellers are just greedy, and previous experiences have proved that a lot of the used parts are overpriced junk! >:(
