is there a product that will spray on a sensor to help protect from damp ??  been told not use wd40

First question is what type of sensor?

In reality, assuming they are the correct type for the environment in which they are fitted,  then no spray will make any difference

I used GT85 for the temp sensor on my Vectra, as it was a bit lazy when i first bought it. Probably because it stood on the dealers lot during winter, (i bought it in late Jan 2019. Did the trick and has been fine ever since.

  I now live in village & whenever there is a lot of rain its literally has a few inches of rain in a few areas to drive through

If your car is so fragile that you can't drive it in rain then I would be questioning if it is actually fit for purpose

  no its not that , the UO29D code has appeared again & it disappeared & on both occasions its been when Ive driven through quite deep water. as the nox position it will be submerged. just guessing really

 Wouldn't bother, the heat from the exhaust will dry it out.

The sensor itself will be made to be waterproof, and the connector will be designed to be either waterproof or very splashproof, depending on the connector position.

may be to do with the sudden cooling of the area due to the cold water  ?

i tried again yesterday to try & delete that U code. i do not know what I did different but pleased to say that I succeeded. I did google search the UO29D issue & came up with an article that stated that on some cars unless the code is deleted from the vehicles computer it may randomly return although the fault is not really there. also went on to say mainly french cars.
 Been contemplating  DPF delete , whats the OOF,s views on that
