Ludicrous I know, but it was probably something dreamed up by the French when we were still in the U.S.E. 

Or you can use your holiday pay to make up for the meagre SSP

Yup, I can jump through those hoops, but would lose it anyway, as our leave year ends on 31st March, and I'm already off for most of that
