Waste of time trying to clean it today as it was freezing fog here until mid afternoon and the water just froze on it. Needs a wash, as took SWMBO out for a drive on Friday along country lanes and it's now bloody filthy. ::)

I took mine to the Romanians, and let their hands freeze rather than mine. So uncomplicated.  ;D

After warming up a bit when the window actuator was fitted to the Boxster, I Pressure washed underneath the Omega and Boxster at work. This involved laying on the ground for some of the time.  ;D
Then gave both a wash.
Had trouble opening the door on the Boxster to drive home from work as the water had frozen around the window and door seal.  ::)
Now have various aches from all the time and effort spent in the cold. ::)
It was worth it though as I now have three *clean cars.

* properly clean. Not a load of grit rubbed all over the paintwork like they would be if I took them to some illegal immigrants to be "cleaned".

The illegal immigrants that do my car are very professional. I've seen them doing very expensive, top of the range cars frequently, as well as run of the mill cars such as mine. They give all cars equal attention. It takes a full twenty minutes once they start and, for a tenner, it's well worth not crawling around the floor like a demented seal pup  :P

There was an Aston Martin in there last time I went, no doubt owned by the proprietor  ;D

For example, do they use the two bucket method ? If not they are scratching the fick out of your paintwork.
I watched them wash an one year old Aston at the front of the MOT garage I go to a few years ago.
The MOT man said the chemicals they were spraying on to dissolve the dirt are so strong its a wonder the paint doesnt dissolve with it.  D
Having said all that, I still ache from head to toe this morning, and am wondering why I bother  going through it for a pair of cars with a combined age of 44 and combined value of about 4 grand.  ::) ;D

Certainly wouldn't take any of ours to our " illegals" car wash areas I wash them all & for a full valet I have a guy whose OCD is worse than mine when it comes to car cleaning , use him a couple of times a year on average. Combined age of our vehicles is 34.

Point being, its not really about the age of the cars or their value.
If your the kind of person who gets a sense of achievement and pride in having done it the way you want it to be done, by putting the effort in yourself, then its well worth doing.

Well.....my £10 was a waste of money. Followed a truck for a couple of miles this morning and it looks like it was never washed.

I don't clean it myself to save money, (my post re new battery proves that). I just enjoy doing it and like to see it looking nice and shiny on the drive. Also it doesn't get all shitty on the journey back from the car wash.  :D
