I miss my 335d touring very much. It was immensely capable and surprisingly economical given the performance

I bet that didn't hang about!

I had one do a 14.0 second quarter alongside my car at Shakespeare, (12.01)  not  in the same realm but really going for what it is like👍😎 it was tuned by DTM I think these are the 'dangle berries' for mapping these?

Hartge used to tune beemers as well. They’d fit a larger intercooler and a remap would lose the electronic limiter.  :y  People won’t believe it but mid range a standard 335d/435d coupe will hang on to an M3. On a 0-60mph sprint the M3 was quicker, 40mph to 70mph the diesel was quicker and could reel it back in and stick with it to just under a ton, but from a ton upwards the M3 was considerably quicker. Tested with various vehicles and the results were similar. My *35d’s would do around mid thirties around town but 50mpg on a long run. Not bad for a car that would hit the electronic limiter with ease …..  apparently.  :)

Never took mine north of 135, my private road was obviously shorter than yours ;-)

The joys of working late shifts and travelling home at silly o’clock in the morning.  :y  I stopped doing it when a Deer the size of a Moose casually walked across the bypass in front of me.  :o

Shit

I had one jump out in front of me in port Talbot once Jesus it was fkg massive in my headlights I almost filled my Jeans😱

.             Evo is light too, recently pulled 60/100 in 3.9😎 the cold air is making it shitinley scary even with 4wd and lsd front and rear it takes some thought before any heavy push on the throttle. Them BMWs sure can go though for what they are! Years ago it would have been inconceivable that they would get to the power levels they are now

Got under the Mondeo again and reattached the rear screen wash pipe to the pump with a smear of glue. Hopefully that fixes it as I don't think all the undertray fixings like being continually disturbed.  :-\

I really liked my old E39 530d Touring. It went and sounded like a train!  :y

The Evo is a car that will always hold a place in my memory. My mate had a Ralliart Evo 6 and it was like a missile. Never known a car with so much get up and go, you could overtake on short straights where you wouldn’t consider doing it in any other car.  :y

I think the E39 has aged well.  :y  There are still some tidy examples out there, especially in M Sport guise.  :y

I had that experience with an actual moose in Canada.  :o

It's quicker at the lights than a Mk7 golf GTi- whilst towing a trailer full of gardening equipment, and with a load of timber on the roof rack.

So I've heard anyway..... ;D

It was the last of their more timeless designs, all the newer designs seem to age much faster.

Bro had a 540 briefly, and it was a proper nice car in '98.  However, for reasons that I fail to comprehend, he ticked the box for gay Gold, so externally it looked appalling ;D

The best my XFR could manage was 12.5 at Santa Pod. Terminal was 122 MPH though.

Slow off the mark due to lack of grip, but properly quick above 60 MPH. :y

Fitted DAB wireless thingy to the C1 roller skate.
Noise comes out of the speakers and smoke is staying inside the wires, so a job well done.  :)
