If you ever get chance to have a good look at a Renaut bonnet catch do....its a right flimsy naff piece of poo made out of a thin bit of steel with a single fold in it......think it must have been designed by the placement student....

NSU initially did 3 cars, the Prinz 4 with a two-stroke 600cc air-cooled rear engine, the 1000 with a four-cylinder 1000cc air-cooled rear engine, and the 'flagship' 1200 - they then came up with the revolutionary RO-80 - Luxury saloon with Wankel engine and claimed top speed of 180kmh, quite an achievement in the mid-seventies - however the Wankel engines kept failing and NSU went bust due to overwhelming warranty claims, and were then taken over by Audi.

Most surviving RO80s are either fitted with Ford V4s or if they are lucky have been RXed

It was perfectly adequate when the bonnets hinged at the front edge, they just forgot to redesign it when they changed to crocodile bonnets.
