In boring Silver.......but great for not showing the dirt ;)

Thats one fine looking taxi, TD :)
Better than the boring japanese cars often used as taxis ;)
Why not a couple of pics of the LPG stuff, ie the tank :)

Agreed. More Pics!!
Looks mint considering the high miles you must do daily, why are you thinking of changing to a Diesel?
Surely that LPG conversion is cheaper to run? I easily get 35 mpg out of mine, so with half price LPG means 70 mpg?

Nice looking car - I hope your fares appreciate it

Ive worked out how to shrink the pics now....so give me a few mins (hours...lol) and i'll post some pics of the lpg tank
This 2.2 does 15mpg on LPG going upto 24mpg on a run....turn the air con on and well.....how does 12mpg grab ya! around town that is....Ok i am saving money compared with my merc diesel....approx £100/month on fuel costs so happy with the saving.....just thought a diesel omega might save a bit more....
Plus i got a prob with the power reduction when running on lpg....im chatting to Martin about it....hopefully he will know the answer
Cheers

Pic of the boot....notice the boot floor...its been raised up by 2 inches...and theres a space saver wheel in there coz i dont have 'proper' spare wheel in there anymore....Tho not sure id like to use the space saver....its a bit small :-/

Heres one of the tank fitted where the spare was
(http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/computersrus/lpg/lpg3.jpg)

Don't be too sure - the only reason I bought mine was that the local taxi firm that did the "exec" service from work to the airport used Omegas - spent so much time in them between Preston and Manchester that I decide to buy one.

Firm i work for classifies it cars......mine is not an 'exec' car apparently :-/....you have to have a merc or jag to be exec status.....mine is classed as 'business class'....which means i do get more work than the 'crap class' ;D

The best you get is 24mpg? :o
Is that the same if you run on petrol?
On run back from my nans, 80 mph all the way on the motorway and giving it stick on country roads (70% mway / 30% country) mine will average 34/35... does LPG reduce the mpg that much!?
-
Looking at the poor performance an poor economy time to try other things, I get 17mpg on gas booting it with a 2.6
The MV6 managed to get a 2 in the front on a run on gas.
1) Plugs fit new ones LPG hammers plugs
2) Check air filter
3) Does emmisions light come on much? It could be running too rich - can you smell gas.
4) Drive it hard on petrol for a few miles then hard on gas
Anyway I think something is not quite right - I am now thinking rich.
But do try revving it more I think at least 4500 - 5000 and see how it goes - my car is a bit down on torque on gas

On Petrol it goes up by about 3 or 4 mpg

I changed the plugs about 12k miles ago.....so is prolly worth changing them again....ive got a new set sitting here
Air Filter.....now thats a possiblity....will have a look at that.....unless vx dealer changed it at its 60k mile service its prolly not been changed in 65k miles.
Emissions light is on about 25% of the time, however i have noticed it seems to be related to where i fill up with gas strangely enough......no carnt smell gas
What will revving it more do for it?
Cheers
-
Revving it will clear it out - differences - I'd expect 2-3mpg
The plugs should be NGK or Vauxhall
-
JUst remembered clogged air filters are fatal for LPG consumption

24mpg LPG + 3 for petrol, so at best still 27mpg??
Something's not right there, drove to my nans today (again) went a differnt way as i went later, 90% motorway 10% town, climate on, fairly full car, 80 all the way: averaged 36mpg
My mpg and performace has got better since I had a new airfilter, the mupets of last owners put the wrong on in, but mine feels at lot less "stuffy" now and performace is back at low revs.
As Martin says maybe an Air Filter change?
