It was hard to climb back in the Victorian /Edwardian era  wearing tweeds and armed with only a pipe filled with rough shag. :)

When do you restart the limbo dancing Tig? Sounds a daunting procedure you've had there, hope you're rocking again soon. :y

Limbo dancing?  :o  ;D  Christ I need to get walking properly first!  :D

Although I'm doing a mile a day on my exercise bike.  :y
I misread that and now I can see Tigger Lap dancing. Nooooooooo............ :o

Lend him your thong. :)

Net immigration figures out today of 685,000. :o :o :o :o
A 10% drop from the year before:

Net migration to UK fell 10% last year, ONS says https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ce99y7l741po

Adding context to a big scary number? It will never catch on. Nobody wants to know that 685,000 in a population of 68million is a terrifying 1%....

Well if you want context, 685,000 is not far short of the population of Bristol.

How many homes are there in Bristol?
How many Schools are there in Bristol?
How many GP surgeries are there in Bristol?
How many hospitals are there in Bristol?
Etc,etc,etc

If you abolished Bristol and dispersed all the Bristolians around the UK, no one would take much notice as it wouldn't have much impact on communities around the country, but do it year after year and people start to see the effects in their area.

You only have to look at the problems not just here in blighty, but across Europe.

France has no end of problems, as does Germany. And just look at the problems in Sweden.

Ireland have also been given a kicking as they have such a small population.

Also...the figure of 685,000 is likely to be rounded up.

The previous year the figure was 606,000 before being rounded up to almost 750,000.

I think they look better :y Now all you have to do is make the rest of the car less ugly to match them :P

I tend to agree that it is an ugly little f*ucker....

It does look 'slightly better' when viewed in the flesh though. Not quite so ungainly. :)

Checked both cars over and started them up for the first time after having both my hips resurfaced five weeks ago today.  :)

The V70 started first time, but the Mondeo's battery was flat and as I didn't think was a good idea to go hauling batteries out of cars at the moment while on crutches, I jump started it off the V70 and left it running on the drive for half an hour or so. It took a bit of cranking to get it started though.  :-\

Anyway, it should have put enough charge into battery to get it going next week when I can officially drive again.  :y
I missed this post, Tigger.  :( That's quite a big deal with your hips, I hope you are back to your athletic self very soon.  :-*

Thanks Uncle STEMO!  :y

It's not been too bad to be honest, but I've more or less had to learn to walk again.  Getting there though and should be bouncing around again in a few weeks!  :)

Didn't know of this Tig.

Was it necessary because your hips have been 'ground down' through pleasuring the ladies. ;) >:D

So in thirty, forty, or fifty years where does that leave us?.........bearing in mind where we already are regarding cultural change especially in our 3 largest cities London, Birmingham, and Manchester.
It leaves you dead  :)

Quite possibly because I'll be 84 in fifty years from now, whereas you are already sitting comfortably in Gods waiting room, waiting for a tap on the shoulder from the big man upstairs. >:D 8)

The Mondeo's renewal has come in.  ::)

Last year: £171.65
This year: £257.01

An increase of £85.36, just shy of 50%!  >:(

That sounds quite high for a man of advanced year from rural Darzett driving something as mundane as a Mondeo.

Twice what I pay for my classic Vauxhall. :)

Dare I say I prefer the originals, more subtle

They look like something you would find on the arse end of something that won't rev past 5000RPM and belches out thick black smoke. :)

Sought after classic Vauxhall due on 9th June.

The Mexican coupe due on 15th June.

I'm hoping I can insure the pair for  less than £500 if I shop around.

Both insured now.

M240i X-Drive............................£338.

Classic sought after Vauxhall which you are all jealous of >:D ........£134

Total...£472.

I had to 'shop around' more than usual though as it appears insurance has gone up by about 30% this year.

The 1970 Jenson is a steal for around £40000 to £50000.

Plenty of Evo and Scooby to keep Rae and Dolly happy.
