Seriously if I take it too the garage.....they'll prob take an hour to change it with the waterpump........i'll take all day.......by the time ive double checked everything.........so money wise........im probably better off letting the garage do it  :-/

You've got to do what you think best, after all your car is your living & isn't earning while it's off the road.  ;)

The cam lock tool for SWMBO's Astra was about a fiver from a motor factor.

.........James did it last time for me  :y

But he's not a member anymore  :'(  ......

Isn't he?  :-? Why?

I assume the twin cam 4 pots are pretty similar across the Vx range. I did my wife's Astra 16v in an hour or so, didn't rush at all. I reckon it could easily be done in half that - didn't do the water pump though. I'm sure you could do it cheaper all in all - including time off the road from taxiing - than by paying someone else.

Thought i double check when my cambelt /waterpump was changed last......dunno what made me check.....i was convinced i had a few thousand miles to go......looked it up on my spreadsheet....

Changed at 86k.....i turned over 127k earlier this evening :-X :-[

Don't panic! ....... Mr Mainwaring. How long has it taken you to do 41k miles. I'm sure that Vauxhall were being exteremely over cautious when they halved the belt change interval. Still .... I'd want it done sooner rather than later. ;)  :y

It is the same as the Carlton shelf, the Carlton had rear speakers there. When you have had both it is amazing how much Omega is off a Carlton.

???? So does that mean an electric blind would fit in a Carlton?  (ignoring the wiring side ...)

....All reflective screens affect satnav (and cellular) signals.

Affect it enough to make the sat-nav unuseable?

38288
Out of curiosity .... where does this live? & does a Carin sat-nav use something similar? Reason for asking is that while I was on the phone sorting out another screen for my lad's Astra I asked about the reflective screens for the Omega. The first thing he said was that they would bugger up the signal for a sat-nav. Does this just apply to a dash mount Tom Tom/etc or would it also apply to a fixed sat-nav such as in the Omegas?

It was meant to be tongue in cheek ;).
I'd especially avoid a white ex-plod car & especially an Omega with 3 pedals  :y  :y  :y

Footrest perhaps?  :y  :y
I have a pedal for each foot.  ;D
