Mine came from Gm and is made by Alco Kober the caravan chassis maker, this would be about 5 yrs ago,it is easily  detachable. Trouble is it cost then £460.00,but I simply had to have a QD one and these ones were the only ones available for a miggy estate.I did check out the Bosal one for a friend a while back and was impressed if I remember rightly you dont need to do any bumper mods on the QD model so I think that would be the one for me.

Oh and can I give you a tip when I fitted the 13 pin socket to miggy I removed the towing eye from behind it's cover and just managed to replace the eye with the 13 pin socket so now its neatly parked behind the cover and not visible in solo mode, after all the towing eye is now not needed.

Mines made by "Towtech" and is a cheapie at only £120 new. Nice and straightforward to fit, too.

I just bough a brand new tow bar from "Towequip" on ebay. The whole kit with plug in wiring (plug into car loom- wire up to electrics socket), tow ball and covers, all for less than £90.

I fitted it with a air ratchet and air drill (you need a drill to go through the pre marked bolt holes in the boot) it took about 1.5hrs- really good! Try and get someone to help you as it helps when they hold the bar and stuff.

I have towed a heavy trailer for about 300 miles each way in one go, and already several shorter journeys, and it is sound as a pound- very pleased.

Have a look and see this seller (I'm not advertising him/her? but I was impressed with the product and price).

I hope that helps.

Don't know whether yours is an Estate or not. I have a chance of a genuine VXone new for £25 less electrics. How much will the leccy cost? :-/
